The Hogar Colonial is a wonderful place to stay and I can’t begin to say how much of an amazing time I had there. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and were able to accommodate everything I asked for and more. The room is modest, comfortable, and gives a nice feeling of security. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook my meals, with a cute little dining area to sit and enjoy the food. The bathroom has warm water, which can be refreshing for those from warmer climates like myself. The rooms are clean, spotless, and organized. The tv has many channels and the WiFi is good too for when one needs to lay down and be lazy . The surrounding area if full of places to buy food, clothing, and other small everyday necessities, and a short walk away there is a shopping mall, unlike any I have been to where I live (there are people inside!!). Claret gave me a sense of calm and peace, and I am excited to return again one day. So to anyone who reads this, visit the Hogar Colonial, relax, and enjoy your time in Bogota. ^^

Great place for a short or long stop, it doesn't matter. Opposite the hotel, there is a military battalion, so it's definitely safe there. I sometimes returned late in the evening, there were no problems. Great hosts, helped me with everything. The hotel has everything you need, equipped kitchen and good internet. The only negative, when I booked accommodation, it was indicated on the booking that it was with breakfast, but breakfast is not provided now, keep this in mind. And the second point, if placed in the very first room from the entrance, it may be a little noisy in the morning. I was very tired walking around Bogota, so for me it was not a problem, but living in this room you will wake up from the aroma of fresh pastries, a bakery that is right around the corner. They sell divine croissants, and you can also have breakfast there, everything is inexpensive. I recommend the place!

Attention of the host was very good, she was kind and helpful. She allowed for my independence and was also there to offer advice when necessary. The room and bed were very comfortable. I liked the large window which allowed for a lot of natural light. The area is very quiet, with local mini-marts and bodegas close by. (tourist attractions were a taxi ride)
The Wi-fi was strong 99% of the time above 20MBPS. Good hot water (new shower installed while i was staying there) and kitchen to cook simple meals. Laundry available with terrace to hang and dry clothes.

Amazing location in La Candelaria. Just a few minutes from everything worth visiting. This is what you pay for and it is good value for your money.
