Amazing beach with super nice staff. Not very crowded which made it really relaxing and cozy. In the morning they put coffee outside of the cabana which was a really nice gesture. Food was also really good.

Hotel Sunsets del Rosario, hotel in Isla Grande

Hotel Sunsets del Rosario has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Isla Grande.

Some of the staff were beyond amazing, others were dreadful. The best were so attentive to guests, too bad the guy controlling the music doesn't think guests were sleeping when he blasted the music. And, they played music the staff liked, very vulgar and offensive music the guests didn't appreciate and told him to turn it off.

Isla Tijereto, hotel in Isla Grande

Facing the beachfront, Isla Tijereto offers 3-star accommodation in Isla Grande and features a garden, terrace and restaurant.

The staff was simply amazing; extremely welcoming, warm, friendly and fun! The also have a dive center at the premises, which made it very comfortable to organize some dives during our stay there; the diving team was equally helpful and friendly. The accommodation (as described) is very rustic and spartan. But if you are fine with that, then I would recommend this place and the island in general for a typical Colombian Caribbean experience :)

Transport from Cartagena via taxi to Barú then short boat transfer - better value & avoid long sea crossing (some very negative reviews re safety). Visibility bouys & kayaks available free on site. Snorkeling equipment available for hire. Trips good. Food cooked by local, some meals were great but not always served with a smile. Some loud music 12-4 from BoraBora next door that takes daily party trips from Cartagena. Overall I'd recommend as is great value.

The trip is too long, you go with a fast boat that is not comfortable at all. High speed, jumping the waves, it gave me a headache once we arraigned to Cartagena from isla grande. I think the island is not worth it, I recommend instead a full day excursion to baru from Cartagena.

Loved the quiet and elegant boutique hotel vibe.

Loved the quiet and elegant boutique hotel vibe. The hotel was full of really lovely interesting guests and the staff were really welcoming and attentive. We loved our stay there as quiet interlude to the fast pace of Cartagena. If you're looking for party vibe then Coralina is not for you (head to Bora Bora). If you're looking for beautiful island shabby-chic luxury then Coralina is perfect.

Incredible place to rest, away from the tiresome sellspeople that crowd Playa Blanca and Barú offering from massages to wrist bands. Here you can actually REST, and do whatever you want to do, snorkeling, kayaking reading. Even work, if you must, the wifi connection was great at the hostel we stayed. You can easily walk the island or do a round trip vía Kayak (3-4 hours aprox). The Mangle are really beautiful and that's a nice tour to have. The little village of Orika (1500 ppl) is really nice and peple are very kind with tourists. There were 2-3 restaurants that I can remember, but none looked tempting so we stayed with the Hostel restaurant for health sake. No need to improvise. :) It's a small island perfect for introspection and sea sports as mentioned before. I'd say it's a mandatory visit if you go to Cartagena (hey, you can even sacrifice Playa Blanca without loosing too much, if you must prune a few days of your stay), but definitely try to visit the island. We travelled with 3 kids aged 16, 13 and 12. and 3 nights at the hostel hit the spot for them. More would have been a little too much for them.

This is the furthest island and honestly there’s nothing to do here. Specifically at this hotel, there was only two lawn chairs where the sun actually reached and the rest were always in the shade. And the two that were in sun were always occupied. The one time we did get to sit in them, the dock it’s on was not sturdy or secure. In fact the board under the chair broke as my friend was laying in it!! And the chair leg went towards the water. The hotel itself had no beach so you had to walk 20 minutes to get there and it was not easily accessible by any means. All the other beaches were private and you had to pay for. They offered theee excursions - I can’t speak to one. But the other two were scams.

It felt really remote but with everything you needed (be prepared, no A/C. The Caipirinhas are FANTASTIC how they make them. Kayaks pull up with cocktails from outside vendors. Adds a fun element. Most nights they offered something to do after the day trippers left.

Rosario Ecohotel exceeded our expectations! A little piece of paradise away from hectic Cartagena! Swimming right from the dock is sublime and there are lots of spots to lounge, read a book or enjoy a tasty beverage on the dock! We loved our spacious and charming room with ocean views. The restaurant food was filling and tasty! Definitely quieter during the week .. weekends get busy with super speedboats anchoring nearby and blasting loud music.

Lovely island paradise with very welcoming and cool people. The place is architecture wise the most beautiful on Isla Grande. All beds have a fan and mosquito net so sleeping is comfortable even with the heat. There are daily social activities too. But also lots of space to just chill and relax. Hammocks everywhere. Crystal clear blue waters and white sand beaches are very nearby. Felt very comfortable with topless sunbathing.

location location location, this hotel is located in the most incredible place, that’s really what the hotel is all about. I had a great time so don’t be put off by negative reviews. however, I didn’t expect gourmet dining ( but the food was tasty and so fresh). the staff were wonderful but definitely worth learning a few words of Spanish before you travel as it will reallly help.

Would definitely recommend this place on Isla Grande. The location is beautiful and convenient. The thing that really made this an exceptional stay was the staff. The man running the hotel was so helpful, so friendly, so happy. He provided us with awesome cheap tours and was always there in a great mood to help us out

Excellent value resort in beautiful Carribean Island. The hotel restaurant is terrific, every single meal was of a high standard. If anything we are impressed how good the cooking is for this remote location.
