This is such a wonderful hotel with amazing welcoming and helpful staff and wonderful food. It is such a stunning part of the world and Sabai absolutely showcases the splendors of the beach and jungle. Everything we needed we got, including a trip to the National Aviary which was magnificent. Everyone at Sabai was fantastic, helpful, bright and warm, and the property was just beautiful. Pura Vida Baru - La Casa del Cholo is situated on the beachfront in Baru, 100 metres from Playa Blanca. The hotel also features free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service.

The breakfast was good, the location is very good, the staff is great! Would recommend this place for a getaway for a few days! The place is in a more relaxed part of the Playa Blanca so the big crowds aren't at your doorstep the whole time, which is nice too.

    Wow this location is AMAZING.

Wow this location is AMAZING. Truly it was a private beach all to ourselves… only one other couple there on our first night. The property only has 4 rooms total so you’re never going to have a bunch of people there. The staff were SO accommodating and patient with our lack of ability to speak Spanish. We only speak English, staff only spoke English but they always used translation making it very easy to communicate! I saw other reviews complaining about the food being overpriced and no hot water for the shower which seems silly to me after now experiencing how remote this place is! It was my toddlers first travel experience, and I was SO happy with the comfort Carey House offered. Is it a luxury hotel, no. But does it have everything you need on a remote beach location with PERFECT Carribean swimming and the best staff ever? Yes. We will be coming back!

The only way to get from the arrival area to your hotel is to walk along the beach with your luggage or by boat. When the seas are ruff and there are no boats you must carry your luggage through the sand and water. Depending where your hotel is, that could be a mile. There is one tiny bodega on the beach to buy soda and beer and not much else. It’s best for a short stay.

Horrible place, instead of the sea breeze you'll enjoy exhaust from the dozens of motorboats and scooters cruising everywhere without any rules. They make a horrible noise all over the day, combined with loud music from each bar it caused a headache. Food and drinks are extremely expensive, we got poisoned by some food there being sick for 3 days. Trash is everywhere behind the beach line.

Before 11 am and after 5 pm, it is beautiful.

Before 11 am and after 5 pm, it is beautiful. Between those hours, however, there are an overwhelming number of visitors and vendors. The water is full of so many people offering rides on jetskis, banana boats, tour boats, etc, that rather than smell the ocean air you smell gas. If you want peace and quiet you need to trek about 2 kms to the peaceful section of Playa Blanca.

Baru was a big surprise for us in all the right ways.

Baru was a big surprise for us in all the right ways. Family of 3 with a 10 year old, stayed 6 days, 2 different hotels. Beautiful white sandy beaches, turquoise colored waters and fresh sea food ( learn your prices and always check before accepting anything). The family time spent there is unforgettable. The people are kind and respectful. The island is safe and after 4pm starts to calm down and at 7-8 pm it's quiet and peaceful. Most people spent a day and leave, but i recommend you stay and do the activities. We did snorkeling and raccon as well as the Plancton (DO NOT MISS IT! ). Hotels Soy Local Baru if you want the authentic and exclusive experience 5⭐️ Nena beach resort AC, pool and beach beds.

Everything about this place exceeded our expectation. The accomodation is a new build so everything is clean and works well, good A/C in the rooms. The staff were great at answering any questions and helping out with trips and arriving at the hotel. We did the snorkelling tour and really enjoyed seeing crystal clear waters. Arriving at the location from Cartagena was a bit confusing but Camilo helped us arrange it. Bear in mind there is limited water on the island so worth bringing some with you for the first day or so.

Amazing Staff and rustic/minimalist atmosphere. From all the places, hotels and hostels this is for sure one of the best places to stay in Baru. Luis (the owner) and all the staff was really attentive and cared about all requests. Good food and breakfast. Lovely dinners by the sea... The place is extremely rustic, romantic and cute all built in wood structure. Missing some commodities but that's the spirit in wild Baru ;) Good white sandy beach, local food and blue sea!

Great hotel to disconnect, relax and just enjoy the see. The staff is the best value of the hotel, always ready to help, and to solve any inconvenience. Specially, María Lena and Luis in the reception, William in the dining room, the guy who help with the luggage, and other ones I don't remember the name. The food is very good, fresh products and enough variety. I was with my family, 8 person's, but it is also good for couples. You have enough private atmosphere.

The only thing we liked was the ocean was really close to us, there was no power light and water for restrooms, and Natalia was very rude and she blocked us from whatsapp, I spend one night but it was hell because there was no electricity for the fans, and this island is extremely hot, the power plant was out of gas and I think they should be prepare with extra gas, to take care of their costumers. They only good thing was Jose the groundskeeper, very nice person.

Our stay at Baru Playa Resort is like living on Fantasy Island - beautiful, remote, tranquil, & peaceful. The staff is exceptional, professional and friendly. Captain Edgar is a great boat captain and very friendly. Jorge, the owner, is passionate about quality service and maintaining the rustic island vibe of his beachfront resort. I am so impressed with Jorge and the resort, that I would consider investing in it!

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, very spacious with plenty of places to sit and have breakfast. The food is great but pricy, but then again you're in a beautiful beach resort in a tropical paradise so who cares. The hotel is right on the beach, you open your room doors and the tropical paradise beach is staring you in the face. The staff was great, very friendly.

I was looking for a property that was off the beaten tracks on Isla Baru and Casa Cordaba Baru is exactly this. The forthcoming and friendly staff combined with a very relaxed and quiet athmosphere in an very well maintained property is a perfect hideaway for those that dont need or want to escape the buzz.
