The service provided is great. Nothing was too much. Mr Xiang came to the bus station near by to greeting us and showed us the way, he even carried the luggage for us. They were caring and did the washing for us even we stayed for only one night. The place is very clean with a good view.

Fenghuang is really nice. We've traveled a lot around China and people have been very friendly. One aspect of Fenghuang that we like was that it doesn't seem to get many western tourists nor has it changed to accommodate them --- for the better. The tourist maps tend to be in Chinese (only) which works but travelers should try to have some level of awareness of what to see and do --- that said, it's really nice just wandering the streets and alley ways without much of a plan.

The old buildings, historic gates and Ming Era pagoda are set next to verdant, forested hills. We enjoyed the old homes and collections of antiques as well as exploring the narrow alleys. The river is lined with restaurants and night clubs, many with live music. Nearby Fenghuang are several other significant historic towns and sites.

Location was perfect - within walking distance of the river. Location is ideal for an evening stroll down the river and just at the heart of town - close to shops, restaurants and cafes. Would definitely go back when we go back to Fenghuang.

Much more impressive than I tought.
Much more impressive than I tought. Also much much more touristic than I expected. I thought it was somewhat off the beaten path and it was anything but, so a little too touristy for what I normally like but still absolutely gorgeous. Lots of bars too, I wasn't at all in the mood for that but I was really surprised by the nightlife, lots of clubs and bars and surprisingly it seemed like quite the party (everywhere was kinda full was an off-season wednesday.

Perfect location! After booking we received an email with extra directions which made it easy to find 😊 The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. Also towels, toothbrush, soap and shampoo were supplied for free!!Veronica at front desk was extremely helpful, even booked bus tickets to the next city for us😊 Recommended stay!
We had a lovely stay for one night. The room was very clean and it had everything we needed it. Away from the noise of the town but close enough to all sights.
Wang is a great host! She was in contact prior to our arrival and meet us in town to help us get to the hotel. She gave us directions and suggestions for places to visit and eat in town. Wang walked with us to the bus station on our departure day and showed us which bus to take.
There is no breakfast but it is not problem as you can get some food near by or buy from the supermarket.
Everything! And especially amazing hosts which made sure I was safe, seen the best parts of the city and tried the best noodles in my life! Highly recommended this beautiful boutique hotel. Especially you will appreciate it at night when want to have a restful night sleep as if you stay at the hotel facing the river it’s super loud until late night. Everything was perfect, room, bed super comfy, view and again the host!!! I’m very grateful and lucky I have chosen this hotel!
It is super clean and modern. I had the best room in level 4. They have an elevator. The staff is very helpful. He keeps in contact until I arrived and help me in my luggage, upgrade my booking, explain everything around the Fenghuang in a map, recommend and book for me the night boat. While I am walking around they answer my questions by WeChat and make sure that we are good. Also, they show me the best way to move to Guilin and help me in that. The LOCATION is perfect.
The first and the most important is the great hospitality of Mr. Xiang Mengjie, the owner, he helped us organing the taxi, pic up back and forth from the train station, showed us the breakfast place even bought us a simple breakfast meals. Plus the location of the hotel is just right there in the middle of busiest area of Fenghuang Ancient City. Great place indeed. This hotel helps us to enjoy the city very much!!!
We have had an amazing time at the hotel. Its location in the old town at the foot of the river is perfect, the views from the room spectacular and good cleanliness. From the first moment we were received excellently, explaining the important points of the city, the hotel services (laundry, super full breakfast, ...). The hotel has far exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend it.
BaHaoBieYuan guesthouse decoration is made with a rare sense of detail, especially for China. I felt like in Europe.
The guesthouse is super clean and you can reach in 2 minutes the hotspots of Fenghuang through quiet streets (which is something appreciable there).
The guesthouse street is also very quiet.
And you can throw the paper in the toilet (something quite rare too :-D )
The owners were so friendly and helpful. There were lots of nice touches such as little gifts like fruit and flowers and even sweets from their downstairs shop. We are on a cycling tour and they let us store all five bikes inside the hotel and even carried them upstairs for us! The hotel was a two minute walk from the best viewpoints of the ancient city.
Great hotel by the central river of Fenghuang, owned by a nice and knowledgeable family. If you ever take this hotel, do ask the owners for advice on where to eat - they don't offer breakfast themselves as the hotel is tiny, but the places they recommend are generally super authentic and cost friendly. Perfect for dodging tourist traps in Fenghuang.

The hotel is just outside the old walls, the room is spacious, clean and the view stunning. The staff doesn’t speak English but he has been very kind and helpful using the translator. He helped me to find good restaurant and place to visit.
