The Wanda is a great hotel and easily matches western standards. Most reception and service staff speak English, making it very easy to stay there. Rooms are spacious and well furnished. Breakfast offers a good mix of Chinese and western options. I have stayed here multiple times over several years.

I stayed 2 nights. Staff is very kind and generous. I was late for check-in time but he waited until I arrived in the inn. And, the breakfast is 10 CNY and that is proper to appease my hunger.

Big, modern city centre with lots of high-rise buildings but...
Big, modern city centre with lots of high-rise buildings but outskirts have less sophisticated facilities. Hired a van for six of us so moving around was easy. Used Jiangmen as a base for exploring nearby attractions in Xinhui, Kaiping (UNESCO world heritage site) and so on.
