Lovely room with a view over the river. Spacious and tasteful, very comfortable, seating area by the window, nice bathroom.
Jenny (speaks excellent English) provided a superb service for organising our tours. We communicated with her by WeChat before our arrival in Guilin and she outlined our options. When we arrived she arranged a driver to take us to the Longji Rice Terraces and booked tickets and driver to go to the River Li cruise (the dock is some way from town). This took all of the stress out of planning!

Absolutely lovely hotel in every way. 10/10 recommend.
The double room was extremely spacious (enough space to run around!), fully furnished (king-size bed, many tables/stools/sofa, clothes rack), and spotlessly clean. The decoration is stylish, the floors are made from parquet in the room and tiles in the bathroom. The shower is very spacious too. Everything is of high quality.
Staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast provided in the morning, and they help with travel tips and organizing tours to sights in the beautiful area. They made us feel right at home for our 5-night stay.
And last but certainly not least ... the view from the rooms is simply breathtaking! When we booked the hotel, we had doubts whether the view would really be that good. Many hotels advertise a view, only for the reality to be disappointing. But not this hotel. Imagine waking up every day with a 3m-wide window showing Guilin's amazing karst mountains right in front of you, with practically nothing in between you and them!
All of this, for a reasonable price ... Ideal stay for anyone - single, couples, groups - who comes to Guilin and Guangxi for the beautiful nature.
PS: hiking and promenade routes available right from the hotel's doorstep!

桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。
桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。临江有闲别院酒店的住宿体验如下:This hotel specializes in scamming and mistreating unsuspecting foreigners. I was placed in a room with over 60 mosquitoes and recorded video footage. Although the staff changed my room, the 2nd room also had over 60 mosquitoes. They take care of mosquitoes better than they take care of guests. The staff then just gave me an electric fly swatter and told me to "deal with it". The TV was also broken. I asked the staff about it and they claimed I "didn't know how to turn it on and was operating it wrong". Even though I kindly asked them to show me how to turn it on, they were absolutely disrespectful in their refusal. I have photo and video footage of not only mosquitoes and flies. Horrific experience, avoid this place at all costs.

Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere.
Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere. The Prince's Palace is slightly older than the Forbidden City in Beijing and has many parts to explore. The climb to the top of the Solitary Beauty Peak at the back of Jingjiang Prince’s Palace at sunset is stunning. Karst scenery is the backdrop to a diverse and decorated skyline. Once darkness arrives, the city comes alive with lights everywhere. Glowing Bridges, boats, islands, ancient relics and the iconic Sun and Moon Temples towering over the water create a carnival for the eyes. Musicians and dancers fill the air and their joyous parades spill out along the walkways. The waterways ring the city and there are boat cruises. The boulevards downtown have wide sidewalks and are tree lined, which makes for pleasant strolling. There are something like 7 different bridges all with different scenic views of the waterways that were once part of the defense system for the ancient rulers. Guilin has been a poplular tourist destination for years, so there are a fair amount of English speakers and hip coffee houses and restaurants. It is also a jumping off point for tours to the Longji Rice Terraces, Ancient Villages and Li River cruises. All in all, we wished we had more allowed more time in Guilin as the people are charming and there were more museums and parks to explore.

Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night.
Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night. The markets have handmade items to buy, lots of sweet mandarins and kumquats as well. The city Centre has a selection of quaint Chinese Restaurants and western bars. Many of the locals speak very good English which makes communication easier. A truly delightful place to visit with many interesting places to explore just outside the city.

Guilin is a very nice place for relaxation, people are very kind and as a small city, all activities are within walking distance. If you want to see the real beauty of Guilin, it's better to go to Xinping where you can enjoy the old town, nice mountains (drawn on 20 Yuan banknote), and river cruise. Also, you can go to the elephant trunk park (make it around the afternoon). Impression light show in Yangshou is not as expected. so you may escape it. Reed flute cave is nice medium-size one, if you have been to another one, you may escape it. All in all, it's worth to visit the city and enjoy nature. Don't forget to install Didi taxi service. It's available in English.

Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer...
Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer service and my Goo Hotel was efficient, but l have passed thru Guilin many times only to find the city beautiful but people in general not really very friendly.... especially if you don't speak Chinese. It is pretty clear that all the people want is your money. l have lived in Zhuhai for 18 years and avoid Guilin other than just passing through on my way to Yangshuo...or Longji Titian. LM sorry.
Great location, cool waterfall effect at night, very grand and impressive central area
- it was clearly once a very impressive hotel. Staff tried and spoke some English. I enjoyed the spa. The gym was well equipped with lots of machines, although they were very old, rusty and the gym did not have any mats for stretching or floor exercises.
The hotel is very beautiful and clean. Food, that prepared in hotel is simple and tasty - it's great, if you feel tired from local Chinese food. Staff is very friendly and speak in English very good. And in hotel we have got all, that we need. There were little shop near hotel with drinks and snacks.
The hotel was really charming, in a cute little village, and the bedroom was really big with a nice terrace. The personnel was so kind, welcoming and helpful. Perfect to do the Longji Rice terraces and stay at the same time not far from Guilin, we recommend!!
Fantastic hotel in the heart of beautiful Guilin. Professional, helpful and very kind staff. Especially young English speaking lady, who check in and check out us. Many thanks. Very clean, very comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Fantastic stay for us.
