The historical connections with Caldera and the UK are fascinating. There are some interesting buildings and the introduction of the railway to Chile is very interesting. The harbour area and the Plaza are pleasant areas to wander and relax with a beach nearby.
Excellent beaches to the south are well worth a visit but expect some to be be busy in the main holiday season.
Theres not much choice in Caldera so it was quite decent given that it was one of the lower priced options. The owner was kind enough to let us check in very early after a long night bus. It’s very clean. Very near the bus station. Walkable to the centre and to the big supermarket. Very clean and a good breakfast.
A beautiful hostal with great facilities including a pool and a gorgeous terrace with views of the harbour, city and sandy hills. The staff went above and beyond and were incredibly accommodating. We felt very at home here and would love to return.
Friendly owner and really clean room with lots of personal touches and useful amenities. Tea, coffee, toaster, kettle, hot plate, fridge, outside patio and small heated pool. Thoroughly endorse all good reviews.
