We were met at the airport and taken to the property which is right beside the hosts' home so they were there if we needed anything. The bungalow is very spacious and beautifully presented with a great kitchen, fresh drinking water, a bowl of fruit, bathroom has a huge shower, bed extremely comfy. Louvre windows provide a welcome breeze and there is also an air conditioner if needed. The crowning glory is the large covered veranda with comfy chairs and beautiful plants. The hosts were so welcoming and they clearly take pride in their gorgeous property. Easy walking distance to explore the local shops and eateries. We didn't have a car for the 2 days we were here and so made the most of exploring the area by foot.
Matriki Beach Huts provide absolute beachfront accommodation on the sunset side of the island. You can enjoy snorkelling from the beautiful white sand beach right at the front of the property.

Fabulous spot amongst the trees and right on the beach. Saw a whale frolicing just past the reef.
Some old Paddle boards make the lagoon accessible.
Tidy huts with a balcony.
Has everything you need to self cater and mossie nets which are essential.
We were able to rent a scooter onsite and free use of bicycles
Nice sunset spot.
Tai Roto Bay offers spacious, authentic accommodation located on its own private beach on the southern tip from Ootu beach. It is a beach front property and safe to swim at all tides.

Staying at Tai Roto Bay was the perfect addition to our once-in-a-lifetime trip to Aitutaki. Cheran and her family made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Their attention to detail and thoughtful touches elevated our experience beyond expectations.
The six bungalows are exactly as stunning as they appear in photos, set around a crystal-clear blue lagoon that’s simply breathtaking. Although we were initially concerned about the proximity to the airport, it ended up being no issue at all—it’s a peaceful, quiet spot.
We loved the warm and welcoming airport transfers, which made our arrival stress-free. The beautifully appointed rooms were comfortable, and the well-equipped kitchen was a bonus for making homemade meals when we didn’t feel like eating out. Having an on-site scooter hire was fantastic—we were off exploring the island within minutes of landing!
Cheran and her family gave us excellent recommendations for food, drinks, and activities, and they were always available to answer our questions with a smile. The bungalows were well-stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
We left Tai Roto Bay with full hearts, feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. We can’t wait to return and will be recommending this beautiful boutique accommodation to anyone visiting the Cook Islands.
Offering a picturesque beachfront location, Ranginuis Retreat features an outdoor swimming pool and BBQ facilities. Guests enjoy free use of kayaks.

The closeness to the lagoon and having a pool at our front door. The views and easiness to walk around the beaches and to some local restaurants. The staff were delightful and helpful. So quiet no noises and cute hens and chickens coming up to greet you on your verandah!
Definitely stay here. We stayed just the one night, and could've stayed here much longer. It's so peaceful and the locals are very friendly and welcoming. Excellent places to eat are close by and the beach is immaculate.

The people were very nice and we were very pleased to have a rental car with Aircon, so we covered the whole island on driving adventures!
However, it would be more convenient if the car hire places were at the airport, and/or they would work in more closely with the plane arrivals and departures (We had to wait 2 hours for our plane because the company dropped us there at 5pm, which is the latest they will work...)
The two cafes (Avatea & Koru), and the Pacific resort, were excellent!

Include a walk around the island to get the feel of its fabulous location. We put the ambience before our food expectations - breakfasts were generous, lunches were our most enjoyed and the dinners relaxing with Thursday happy hour, local musicians playing and the location adding to a great holiday. A great Resort particularly suitable for young couples with as much or as little activity available as one could wish for.

The island of Aitutaki is not for everyone.
The island of Aitutaki is not for everyone. There are no fancy shops or malls and limited deluxe restaurants. It is a place to get away from the busy life and enjoy peace and quiet. Walking the beaches and swimming are the main attractions.

Requests were not always met. Mostly closed on Island. restaurants would not allow us to book for dinner, they informed they were booked out. Couldn't get on excursions as they were saving them for a cruise ship.
Waste of time going there.

Beautiful beaches and crystal clear sea surrounded and protected by a reef. Great location for those amazing South Pacific sunsets. There is no public transport so would highly recommend hiring a scooter or car unless you are in a hotel that caters for your every need and you don't want to explore the island.
We had a truly wonderful stay at Aitutaki Private Lagoon Resort. The resort itself was stunning, but it was the exceptional service from the hotel staff that made our experience truly memorable. A special thanks to Jennifer for her warmth and attentiveness, and to Wise, Mera, and Pati for their outstanding hospitality. The restaurant staff also deserves praise for their ambient personalities and excellent service. Every detail was handled with remarkable care. Thank you for making our time here so special!
Loved the location and hotel in Aitutaki. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, always happy to see us and give advice.
Beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel.
Location! Beach front on the lagoon perfect for snorkelling, kayak, SUP etc. Hotel has free bicycles and cheap rates to hire moped direct from the hotel.
