Room and bathroom were a good size and clean. Both hot and cold items for breakfast were fresh and tasty. Location within historic area and right on the river was a bonus. So was balcony.
Stay at the historic, half-timbered Hotel Rebstock dating from the 14th century, surrounded by a lot of contemporary art, where the people of Lucerne too enjoy wining and dining.

Location is amazing, city reachable by foot along the lake, or with bus from across the streets (many buses). Parking for 20€ for 2 days right next to the hotel, very convenient since you can use your visitor card to get around. Relatively economic for Lucerne.

Luzern is very attractive, most sights within walking distance. A really interesting art gallery (Rosengart Sammlung) and we were lucky to get tickets for a concert for the Luzern Festival. The lake is picturesque and the mountains in the distance had fresh snow.
On the downside - it was full of tourists! The restaurants were nothing special - catering for mass tourism. Like the rest of Switzerland everything was expensive so budget accordingly.

Clean city with lots of attractions / towns / scenic locations to visit. Conveniently connected to other major cities of Switzerland . Most of the shops and cafes close very early which can be a bit tough for people who would love to walk around the lake for longer and then indulge in food and shopping.

Great city, we had a lovely time.
Great city, we had a lovely time. Great restaurants in old town and in Lucerne proper. There are activities in and around Lucerne. Train station is convenient. We went to Lucerne to relax, de-stress and not do much. So, we didn't do any day trips and only walked to all our destinations. Not a location for those in wheelchairs or have trouble walking. Streets in old town are cobble stone.

I stayed in Lucerne for three days and two nights, but since I had to leave for Zurich Airport at 9 a.m. on the last day, I actually spent about one and a half days in Lucerne. During that time, I was able to fully experience the beautiful scenery of the old town and the unique charm of Switzerland, which is different from the area around Interlaken.
The only regret was that on the second day, I planned to go to Mount Rigi, but due to my condition, I ended up just walking around the city. If I visit Switzerland again, I would like to focus on experiencing the beautiful cityscapes of Bern, Zurich, and Lucerne.
It's difficult to find any affordable accommodation in Lucerne, so we appreciated the functional, no-nonsense nature of this self-check-in hotel. If you need human help, you can go to the reception desk next door. The hotel is centrally located about a 10 minute walk from the train station, with a shopping mall, supermarket, and other amenities nearby.
I thought I made a very good decision to book this Capsule hotel. It was even better than I expected. Everything is very clean and well organized. I especially like the lobby—— very cozy, warm, and well designed. And, as many people mentioned, the staff are amazing! It is the best option for solo-traveler to Lucerne:)
Hotel Schweizerhof basically does everything very well. Rooms are spacious and very well decorated. The beds are very comfortable, staff is attentive and friendly. We loved it. Fast Wi-Fi. A 5 minute walk to Altstadt.
The location was really nice, about 15 minute walk from the Lucerne Bahnoff train station with lots of local amenities closed by.
Breakfast was really good + very accomodating hotel staff.
