I really enjoyed my stay at Marthahaus. From the start I could see that the staff was very caring of the guest’s experience. I even received a map with the Bern’s must-see attractions. The room was very nice and clean. I liked that there was a water tap inside the room. Shared bathrooms were clean as well. Breakfast was good as well.

we appreciated that we could park our car in the garage, use free public transport to enjoy the city center and had a dinner at the garden restaurant of the hotel. the room was quiet and clean. The hotel inside is more functional than cosy. We had Wiener schnitzel and it was ok - it came quickly, reasonably priced and big portion. The breakfast was nothing special, but there was enough choice.

I couldn’t believe that such a basic hotel with nothing to offer could exist. Parking under it was the best of all. When you are cold you can not switch off the AC- you have to open the window to let warm air in/ hoping that the weather is warm. Security wise, anyone can take the elevator from the car park to any floor without going through reception with no security check at all. No wardrobe, not even a drawer to put clothes in. Ok for an overnight stay, not longer. I could not understand the receptionist either.
