- The culinary experience surpassed our expectations with a sumptuous breakfast buffet and an excellent dinner at „The Japanese“, although prices are definitely rather high. „The Restaurant“ offers a wide variety of à la carte options, with decent food as well.
- We definitely liked the seamless fusion of Asian and Swiss aesthetics with exquisite furniture and captivating artworks
- Service / staff was attentive and friendly
- Spa is in my opinion large enough and offers a large indoor pool and a smaller outdoor pool in the upper section. The lower part of the spa area features saunas, steam baths and hot tubs with different temperatures

This was a pleasant stay in a spotlessly clean room in an excellent location. The restaurant was closed due to it being off-season, but normally offers South African cuisine. A pleasant and cosy stay.

Andermatt is a cosy little ski town that is far from the party vibe of somewhere like Verbier. The benefit of that is it's not as busy and the prices are a little more "affordable" shall we say (keeping in mind it's still Switzerland!). While it feels much smaller its very easy to get to by train - the journey there is breathtaking! The little train that takes you directly from mid-mountain to the other resorts close by is brilliant as well. Only thing missing might be a bit more of an après-scene on the mountain I would say (if you're into that). Also should be noted they are building a huge new village next to the old village which will be awesome when it's complete. But until that point there are a few cranes and some drilling noises that may bother some people (didn't bother us!).

Andermatt is a lovely town that includes an exceptional ski resort. The town itself has several lovely restaurants, pubs, wine bars, coffee shops. There is a small, but well stocked grocery store as well. The locals were very kind. Felt very safe. Family friendly.

For the two days I was there, I loved Andermatt.
For the two days I was there, I loved Andermatt. It has a spectacular setting amongst stunning mountain scenery. I stayed in a lovely guesthouse (Zum Sternen) in the picturesque village centre with a beautiful Chapel just above the square and typical mountain river flowing nearby. Full of colour with local and Swiss national flags flying, and beautiful wooden buildings. I will definitely come again...and again.....

Andermatt is a small alpine village, ideally located for the Gotthard Pass, Furka Pass and Oberalp Pass. The village is flat and easy to get around by foot, bike or car. Excellent train connections including the Glacier Express. Plenty of bars and restaurants. Ideal for cycling and trail running.

Andermatt is a beautiful little town with all the amenities you really need. A well-stocked grocery store and numerous shops, easy train and bus access, a free ski shuttle, rental shops for outdoor gear, hiking and biking trails galore, and spectacular mountain views. Everything seemed to be a 15-minute walk from everywhere, which was very convenient; plus making use of the free shuttle simplified walking times (bus drivers were very friendly and willing to stop and ask if we needed a ride). Everyone spoke English well, which simplified our travel experience. Switzerland is very expensive, and Andermatt is no exception; consider checking menu prices before committing to a week spent dining in restaurants (we had an apartment and cooked more than we dined out). We did have some spectacular traditional fondue at Hotel Sonne’s restaurant (in the downtown), which was a delight.

Andermatt is located in the very core of the Lepontine Alps, close to many passes and breathtaking mountain views. Either in Summer of winter, the town is plagued with amenities, activities and excursion courses. Restaurants and ok and always enjoying the Swiss traditional class. Swiss is expensive, but the trip worths every Franc. I will return thousand times. Switzerland is the only country where anyone may feel at home once you arrive.
- Great team, easy check-in, and check-out.
- The breakfast was perfect.
- The room was spacious and clean.
- The location is great.
- The hotel is modern and newly renovated.
I would highly recommend Alpenhotel Schluessel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The property had a great storage area for ski gear and was within a 2 minute walk to the Gemsstock tram. Complimentary parking out front and breakfast had an array of choices (gluten free cereal too). Fabulous family run hotel and an excellent restaurant (the best green salad)!
Amazing stuff and very friendly, the hotel is amazing also and very luxury, its designed by Japanese designer, very nice hotel for relaxing. And last thing the house keeping is really nice and they work as a team they clean every thing in less than half hour !
The location was perfect for our ski trip. Free public bus was right across the street that could take us anywhere in town. Ski run was a short walk from the apartment. Garage for parking our car was very convenient. Place was very clean and fully stocked!
Perfect location in the middle of old town, with a few restaurants around. Spacious living room for relaxing evenings and two generous bedrooms that can fit 4 people easily. We had a great time exploring Andermatt and the surroundings from the apartment!
The Chedi is a wonderful experience from the moment you arrive. The hotel interior design is beautiful, the room was stunning and very comfortable, the staff were so helpful. The spa was a delight and the Japanese restaurant exceptional.
Location was easy walk to ski rentals and slopes. They have reserved parking but a short walk away. Easy to check in and staff friendly and helpful. Room was a good size for two and a good shower
I thought the location of Gasthaus zum Sternen was in a perfect location. Short walk to both lifts, and train station. Ski back to from Gemstock. Local bus stop right outside the door.
Nice location, central in Andermatt. Large room. Comfortable shower and good bed. Great to have coffee, tea and a shared fridge.
Would definitely recommend the restaurant!
- very cool owners, the location of the base camp is wonderful with the best view over Andermatt
- Good value for money, even for expensive Switzerland
