Hammer Haus, hotel in Waterloo

Set in Waterloo, 3.3 km from St. Jacobs Outlets and 3.7 km from St. Jacobs Farmers' Market, Hammer Haus features accommodation with access to a garden with a sun terrace.

The location was quiet. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We had access to the kitchen and living room, both of which were beautiful. Carol was a very welcoming host and gave us a tour of the residence. The time of year and weather unfortunately didn't encourage the use of the patio and garden.

The location and cleanliness of the unit!

The location and cleanliness of the unit! When I first arrived there was no clear-cut parking designated. Found out unit didn't have a parking space slotted. Had a hard time opening the lock box. Was not left a note for WiFi and it's password. Room was too hot and the air conditioning wouldn't kick in. Items in the dryer and still on when we arrived. Half sa roll of toilet paper available. Bed didn't really have a sleepablem mattress. Had no comfort at all. I think I rated this property as a two. Would not recommend this unit as a condo unit but a dorm unit. Was very disappointing!

Our trip was in February, I wasn't sure if there would be enough indoor activities. There were plenty of attractions such as St Jacob's village. We loved walking around the village and exploring the many stores. There are at least two good sized antique markets. Thursday and Saturday there is an indoor farmers market. This was the highlight of our trip. The stalls are really interesting and a great selection of food to buy. There is also an outlet mall which we actually did not have time to check out. The local restaurant on Benjamin was very good. Family food, lots of food for a good price. Our trip was lots of fun.

On first entering the property I was very pleasantly surprised with the lovely lobby. Unfortunately, this initial impression was ruined when I noticed the state of the elevators which sadly needed a good coat of paint. It's amazing how the shabbiness of the elevators affected the overall impression of the property. I think they showed neglect and I was wondering in what state the rooms would be. However, mine was just fine.

We only came for one night.

We only came for one night. It has been several years since I was last there and all the new highways were confusing ( especially in the dark). We ended up using an Uber to get us where we needed to be. There are many places of interest but due to the weather we did not stay to explore. Centre in the Square facility in Kitchener is absolutely beautiful!

    Was alright

Was alright if you bring a pet they will change your room to a pet room for more money and they also charge a pet fee. So more for your room and a fee not happy breakfast was nothing to write home about pool and hot tub was a bonus

The location is excellent! There are several restaurants within a couple of minutes walking distance from the hotel. A ten minute walk along the King street brings you to Uptown Waterloo, with an Ion Light Rail (basically a tram) connection to Conestoga/Fairway. The Waterloo Park and Silver Lake are also nearby. The hotel itself is quiet and clean with amicable staff. The rooms are of a decent size, accompanied by a table and a chair and ample storage space.

A very welcoming hotel that strives to provide excellence in customer service, cleanliness and quality rooms/facilities. We especially enjoyed the very warm pool that was a trade off to being only 4ft 4" deep...great for aqua fit but not especially good for swimming laps. The room was quite large and well appointed. Truly a home away from home. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Everything was amazing, the facilities were phenomenal. Had a small issue with the shower but it was promptly addressed by the hotel staff. My son had said something about colouring and they brought him a colouring page and some highlighters from the front desk so he could colour. Such sweet and attentive staff.

The room we got has been very spacious. The size of the TV - although we didn't much use it - has been enormous. We like the shower in the bathroom, some hotels still have the old fashioned bathtub. The room has been very quiet and even had a nice view, although it might not be as quiet during a work week.

the properly was lovely and easy to find. a little confusing because there’s two hiltons beside each other. our wedding shuttle had a mix up and we had to order an Uber and it wouldn’t pick up our location, just the other hotel beside us so we had to hustle over in the cold but that was the only issue!

There were mixed reviews for this hotel, so I chose it mainly because of the good price. But I didn't experience any of the negatives mentioned in the other reviews. It was pretty clean, very quiet, with nice facilities and friendly and attentive staff. I especially liked the pool!

Beautifully furnished and equipped house in a relatively new Waterloo subdivision. Ideal for a short stay in a quiet suburban street backing on to a forest and garden. Our host was extremely gracious and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again when visiting friends in Waterloo.

Good basic hotel close to St Jacobs market and Waterloo shopping mall. Nice buffet breakfast and coffee available to guests throughout the day. If you just want to stay in, you can buy a microwave meal from a small selection in the hotel lobby.
