All the staff that we encountered were extremely polite and helpful.
We arrived a few hours early and were offered a checkin much earlier than expected.
We were extremely grateful as that allowed us to have a few hours of sleep prior to enjoying some early evening activities.
A special mention to Kim for helping us search for an item I thought I had accidentally
thrown in the rubbish from our room.
Also to Voula and Ioanna in hospitality who always attended to us warmly and ensured my husbands allergies were catered for. Even the chef came out to speak to him which was so nice.

This was our second visit to this hotel on this trip. The first time we had a room at the front of the hotel which was very good This time we had a room at the back of the hotel and the room was very small. We had to move the double bed away from the wall in order for both of us to use it. The room felt very tied

An outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, Vancouver is sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain is a favourite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.
Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch ‘n’ putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.
Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home ground of the city’s football and American football teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.
With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

Traditional downtown Vancouver hotels are now unaffordable for families during the tourist season.. Try to visit shoulder season as there is so much to see and do. A rental car might help. There is a hop on hop off water taxi Granville Island False Creek Ferry that has an extensive route and gets you around to major sights for only $20 per day..

Vancouver has a really relaxed vibe to it, even though it a bustling city. The streets are wide, the pavements (sidewalks) are plenty wide enough for people to walk along without feeling hemmed in.
The city-scape is phenomenal. So many interesting buildings to see. Lots of glass and metal but also plenty of older, stone and brick-built structures.
There are so many waterfronts to walk along. All of them interesting in their own way. Lots of great restaurants and bars and people are just so friendly.
I just love the little water taxis plying their trade and carrying people along the rivers and inlets efficiently and always with a friendly demeanour.
And then there are the views of the mountains. Wow!
Vancouver is certainly in my top 5 favourite cities in the world.

What I liked best about Vancouver was the nearness to water, the garden areas and the views of Vancouver Harbour. Stanely Park and Granville Island are worth a visit. Vancouver is a city that is easy for walking around and for finding your way around. The traffic is very busy but the willingness of drivers to give way to predestrians was appreciated.
I enjoyed my visit to Grouse Mountain and Capilano Bridge. I would recommend they not be missed.
The whale adventure was disappionting as not much of the whales bodies could be seen and there were not many to see.
Public transport is cheap and easy and I found it easy to traverse from a location where I stayed on the outskirts of Vancouver.

Driving around is difficult for a first time person in Canada. Side streets are difficult to read and a lot of one way only. Signs are small, but main roads signs are well noticeable. Be aware of stop signs with traffic lights. Confusing, not sure what to do except notice when cross traffic stops. Many one way only. Very expensive. Watch the exchange rate. The fees at shops to use card can be very high to convert your money. People are very friendly and helpful. The streets are clean.

Loved staying at the Barclay B and B.
Loved staying at the Barclay B and B. Fanny Bay Oyster bar was fabulous, great happy hour from 2 to 6pm. Loved the Red Accordian Restaurant for dinner. Food and drink were fabulous. We walked everywhere from our B & B. One of our favorite tours was the Frasier Valley Wine Tour with Canadian Craft Tours. We also took the Ultimate bike tour with Vancouver Cycles and our tour guide was David from Spain. He was so fun! You can just rent bikes and cycle all over Stanley Park and the surroundings. We loved going to Kitsilano and hanging out at the bar on the beach. I would stay at the same B & B and explore more. We ran out of time.
When booking this room I did not have big expectations from all the reviews I read but staying in Vancouver for a week I needed a buget hotel. When I got there I realised that it had everything I needed. It was clean, Staff were very nice they tried to help with everything I asked for! It really needs a revamp but the beautiful view from the 12th floor in the centre of downtown and the lower price near all the other hotels close by beats the ugly curtains and furnishings and made it all worth it!
My husband and I commenced our Canada road trip at the Exchange, Vancouver and wow what a lovely stay we had! We were so well looked after by the friendly and accommodating staff, the hotel was so clean and modern and our room was just beautiful. The hotel is in a great central location in a nice part of the city. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Highly recommend the Hydra restaurant within the hotel too, one of the best meals we’ve ever had.
Location best in Vancouver, central Robson St, main street of CBD but not noisy traffic. Excellent bus stop at door. Tours pick up at the door.
Lovely staff. Medium size hotel.
Large rooms, all huge windows.
Extremely clean.
Tea& coffee plus fridge. Microwave in foyer to use so can heat up food or baby's things
Cafe for breakfast or brunch recommended
Not cheap but better prices than major chain hotels and big rooms have desk, lounge chairs.
Wonderful location. Three minute walk to the water taxi to get to Granville Island. Conveniently located in downtown. Not too far from Stanley Park, Kits Beach. Clean rooms. Staff were helpful. Affordable compared to other hotels in Vancouver.
