I booked a cabin here as a last minute booking while road tripping and realizing that I was done driving for the day and needed somewhere to lay my head for the night.
The distance from town was a little daunting, but I wanted something quiet and comfortable. I am so glad I went ahead and booked, because the scenic, dirt road drive here was absolutely stunning, with even a bear to pop out of the woods and greet me at the last km mark!
The owner was ready and waiting to show me to my cabin upon arrival and I couldn't have been more pleased. She had built up a tidy fire in the woodstove and it was a warm welcome after a long day driving.
I had my own private cabin on a beautiful piece of land with plenty of green, treed space around it.
The cabin itself was clean, immaculate and lovely, with all sorts of artistic touches to make it feel like home. It had a full, well stocked kitchen for cooking, a super comfy bed, and a cute little dining nook.
I honestly wish I'd had a few days to spend here to soak up the beautiful surroundings and the absolute quiet.
Yes, it's a long way from town (bring groceries with you!) and yes it has an outbuilding/outhouse for a toilet, but it was worth the drive, and the outhouse was the cleanest, nicest one I've ever seen!
I would definitely recommend this place for a quiet getaway in nature and I already have to a few friends!
Located 10 km outside of Smithers, Smithers Driftwood Lodge offers guests a sun terrace equipped with a BBQ. Scenic views of Hudson Bay Mountain and the Babine Mountains is enjoyed.

The owners were very friendly and accommodating to our late night arrival due to a mechanical issue with our truck. The setting is absolutely spectacular and the off grid cabin was very comfortable.

Smithers, BC, exceeded my expectations with its charming atmosphere and excellent skiing options during my 3-day stay. The presence of a good brewery added to the experience, and the friendly locals further enhanced the city's appeal.

Unexpectedly cute and clean little town.
Unexpectedly cute and clean little town. Quite a few modern type establishments. Great little coffee shop in town centre. You have to try Two Sisters for healthy yummy food! The Mexican restaurant by the railway tracks is awesome. It is a mini Jasper or Banff.
Excellent location. Just takes minutes to drive into Smithers. We had a room with a view of the mountains. Yelena and Mark are excellent hosts. Yelena took care of us like we were family. We ordered some take out one evening and Yelena organized place settings on their wrap around deck watching the sunset and the mountains. Gorgeous. If you take their breakfast option, she puts out an excellent spread with home made treats and locally sourced deli. There's no other place we'll stay when we're in Smithers the next time around.
Stayed for 3 nights. The location is great, just a short 2mins walk from Main Street. No problem finding free parking out front. The breakfast was a bonus, eggs any style and a hot buffet to fill up the plate, with coffee on tap for most of the day. The room was clean and comfy. Not the best view from ours but no problem, we were playing outside all day, everyday. The staff were super friendly, like pretty much everyone we met during our stay in Smithers. We'll be back in winter for snow sports, for sure.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the sound of the river from our patio. Very clean and comfortable. Firewood well-stocked. Would have been nice to have coffee in the room and to see refillable shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers instead of single use. Overall it was a lovely stay and a great value compared to hotels in Smithers.
The breakfast was fresh and delicious (no rehydrated eggs!). The rooms were clean and quiet. The staff were very accommodating and helped us in receiving multiple packages for our work trip prior to our stay. I will be staying here anytime I work in Smithers!
Great Location if you're visiting Smithers. Shops, restaurants and grocery and the mall are within 5 minute walk. Parking space is available when traveling by car. Breakfast was very good. Amazing service by the staff who prepares egg dishes to your liking.
Very pleasant host. The building itself is incredible - cool log cabin vibes with great views overlooking the fields and mountains around Smithers. Clean and comfortable. Also cute touch to have berries from the home garden for breakfast.
The hospitality from the owner operators was exceptional. The location was peaceful with fabulous views of the Smithers Valley. The breakfast was excellent each morning. High quality and high value establishment.
The staff on arrival was very friendly. The room was nice and clean. There is a park next door, which is nice when traveling with a pet. The Tim Hortons is right next to the hotel, which is easy for breakfast.
I went to Smithers to spend the night and hit the Hudson Bay Mountain for snowboarding. The room was super cheap, clean, and beds were comfortable. Can't complain for the price.
The staff was exceptional and extremely helpful. My stay was relaxing and I will 100% be recommending this hotel to lots of people. It was also very clean. I'm very impressed.
