We stayed in Rocky Harbour mainly to be able to get to the Western Brook Pond Tour in Grosse Morne National Park, about a 25 minute drive from Rocky Harbour. Despite being rained out, the boat tour was amazing. The ex-fjord was stunning, and really gave us an appreciation for rocks, mountains and the Earth. It was particularly mind blowing to learn they found whale bones several hundred meters up the cliff face (in caves there) - just imagining how high the water level used to be there!

Gros Morne was the reason we came.
Gros Morne was the reason we came. We did the Bon Tours Western Brook tour and were disappointed in the level of knowledge by one of the tour boat guides. We mentioned. This to the Gros Morne information center since they should be aware. We loved the Bon Tours Anchors Aweigh show. What a great night!

Air conditioning was just being installed and even though there was a fan it was still hot. No elevator, 2 flights of stairs to haul your luggage. Clean room, lovely beds with balcony, I would recommend this location.

Pretty town with a great Handmade gift shop, good restaurants, Earles and Java Jack's were 2 we got to experience. Great evening activity at the Oceanview Hotel, the Anchors Aweigh show booked through Bon Tours and the Kitchen Party booked at the Anchor Pub in the Oceanview. Great access to Gros Morne attractions such as the Western Brook Pond Tour.

The Treasure box restaurant was very affordable and had some local treats and foods that were great. The beaches were easy to get to and comb. The National Park is spectacular. There are very few grocery options so if you are driving from St. John's or Deer Lake, you would be better to pick up most of your supplies before heading into the park. Keep in mind that the restaurants are not open late or for too many hours.
We participated in an UNDER THE STUMP ATV tour. This is the only company that offers accessible tours for every ability. We were able to access the park and learn about the local flora and fauna from the indigenous guide, Trina Reid. We also enjoyed a local treat, a small kitchen party, made our own ugly sticks and got screeched in. We would highly recommend UNDER THE STUMP for families with smaller children, anyone with limited mobility or who is not interested or capable of taking on an 8hour hike. We were picked up at the Irving station, less than 500m from the hostel.
These cabins are GORGEOUS, inside and out. They have a fantastic and spacious layout on the inside. Check in/out was a breeze and the owners were a phonecall away if we needed anything. We were a few minutes drive into the main Street of Rocky Harbor so getting groceries and dinner was easy. After a week of hotel rooms it was a real treat to have a space to actually relax in with a glass of wine. Can't recommend these chalets enough.
This Centre is the best because it combines so many activities in one place. I went to Rocky Harbour to visit Gros Morne National Park, booked a tour Western Brook Pond, which was guided by the same guys I could see in the hostel every day. Also, I had to get to Deer Lake somehow and these guys helped me a lot because they have a shuttle for a low price compared to local taxi. I'm more than happy that I picked up this place.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The place gave us a feeling of home away from home. The way how the dining/common room area is set up allows people to talk and make friends. It is conveniently located in Rocky Harbour, easy access to the road, trails, restaurants and grocery stores. The pharmacy crossing the road sells food and vegetables as well.
Oliver's Landing is a beautiful little two-bed cottage in a quiet spot on the edge of Rocky Harbour near the local pond - neat as a pin, and well equipped for travellers at any stage of life. The hosts were lovely - they made us feel like neighbours (and it's such a nice part of the country, I wish we were!)
We stayed in the little cottage in front of the main house. (Main house closed due to Covid). Cabin was super nice and clean. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was big and nice. Coffee was provided. Location is walkable to downtown where there are a couple of great restaurants. All in all a great stay!
The location was great. Right across the street from the ocean and restaurants and shops within a walkable distance. Lobster Cove Lighthouse is an easy little drive and amazing geological formations at Green Point are not to miss. And the Kitchen Party at the Anchor Pub was a total hoot!
Chris and Gail were friendly, kind, and responsive - excellent hosts. The location is quiet and an easy (20-25mins) walk to the centre of Rocky Harbour where there are shops, cafes, etc. It was a great location with quick and easy to access all of Gros Morne NP.
This chalet was gorgeous. They have thought of everything even a light in the closet! Fully stocked kitchen, beautiful bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Absolutely stunning views of Rocky Harbour. The owners were very attentive and friendly
Everything at the wildflowers Inn was fabulous. The staff were great, our little cabin #2 was just perfect for us. Just what we needed. Spotlessly clean and a great location right in rocky harbour. We couldn't have asked more more.
The location at Rocky Harbor is ideal for exploring Gros Morne. Motel style cabins with outdoor porch seating for morning coffee. Good amenities as far as fridge and and Keurig. Interior was comfortable.
The chalet was well-equipped and very comfortable. The location in Rocky Harbour was close to nearby sites like Norris Point, Woody Point and the Tablelands as long as you have a car.
We bought some provisions locally and kept in the provided refrigerator. Full kitchen provided with lots of pots and pans. Good restaurants nearby. Able to use the laundry for $5.
Location was great in Rocky Harbour and easy to find. The hotel was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, the staff were very accommodating.
