The room in general was dirty including the bathroom. Dust everywhere . The bathroom tiles with mold. The baseboards where black instead of white.
Beds are not confortable and they are not made well . We stayed for 7 days and the beds were never changed. Only two hangers for a 4 guests room. The mini fridge not clean and full of ice.

Enjoyable town with with a mix of old and new. The old city being the highlight, albeit touristy. Plenty of restaurants in old Quebec City, but parts of town can get overrun by tourists at certain times. The general areas had lots of parks, tons of bike lanes and miles of paths for for running or walking. Two to three days is probably more than enough for most people, but if you're more active and take advantage of the outdoors or just like to chill, I could see staying longer.

Quebec is a very nice city, that merits a visit.
Quebec is a very nice city, that merits a visit. We especially appreciated the historical town center, that is quite lively even though we did visit out of the main tourist season, and is a nice to go to for a drink.
Also the Montmorency falls are worth a visit (just a bus-ride from the city center).
Other than that, the city is not massively big, and 3-4 days to visit is sufficient, in our view.
For whale watching tours we would pick a place somewhat up north, since Quebec city is quite far some distance away.

In our 3 1/2-day stay, we walked 20 miles.
In our 3 1/2-day stay, we walked 20 miles. It is a walking city, but often the walking can be strenuous as QC is built on a high hill. Taxis and tours buses abound for the visitor who is unable or unwilling to walk.
QC presents itself in two layers to the visitor. The first is the energy one expeiences walking streets filled with happy people and occasionally, mobs of school kids making their way home after school in the afternoon. The second and primal layer is the craftsmanship and skill shown in the intricate stone buildings, walls, streets and fortifications.
A friend says QC is as close as one can get to a visit to France by car.

Beautiful city, easy to walk around.
Beautiful city, easy to walk around. Boat trip is recommended as is taking the bus to Montmorency Falls. Allow at least 90 minutes if buying a bus ticket online as it takes that amount of time to activate
Uber taxis are much more expensive than the local taxis as they are unable to use bus/taxi line

The architecture was breathtaking.
The architecture was breathtaking. We felt we were in many parts of Europe. Montmorency Falls are a must see, absolutely spectacular. Notre Dame Basillica another amazing place to see. The guided tour of Chateau Frontenac is not to be missed, a really informative, beautiful experience. Take the funicular to Le Petit Champlain and soak in the oldest street in Quebec. The Parmesan restaurant, Bistro Hortus and Cafe Buade are wonderful places to eat. We will hold this trip in our hearts forever.

Gem of Canada.
Gem of Canada. Absolutely recommended place to go - especially if you have not been to Europe, or have been and missing it.
Old town is definitely a must for a walk and eat-outs (Aux Anciens Canadiens, Restaurant Sagamite), plus the park Plains of Abraham.
We booked this hotel mainly for the location. It was near where our cruise ship docked and also near lower Old Town Quebec. Our room had a kitchenette and was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The front desk staff were excellent. We arrived before check in and asked to have our luggage held. Our luggage was waiting in our rooms when we checked in later. The staff were helpful with maps, taxis, and restaurant suggestions. The restaurant Louis in the hotel serves a delightful French breakfast which we reserved for the next morning.
20 minutes from old Quebec City. 7 minutes from Walmart supercenter. Restaurant great quality. Lots of added amenities. Kids activities were phenomenal. The hotel felt like a resort. I would recommend this hotel vs staying in old Quebec. Getting reservations at restaurants is a nightmare in Quebec so we really enjoyed having a nice restaurant on location. Do not listen to the negative comments I have no idea where they stayed because it could not have been Le Bonne entente.
Room was big and comfy. Breakfast was a small continental buffet with breads, danishes fruit, condiments, tea and coffee. It was all that we needed and enjoyed what was on offer. Great location in old Quebec town, situated in good spot to walk around the old town and close to some great restaurants and cafes. Hotel is situated across from the Museum of civilisation - which is a must see. The restaurant - Matto, was very good with a great menu and food was delicious.
The restaurants, including Sam Bistro and Champlain, were absolutely incredible and the food and service was worth every penny. The ambience and decor for Christmas weekend was magical and very cozy. The location of the hotel was central to everything in Old Quebec, including Quartier Petit Champlain, toboggan activity, churches, the town, and the boardwalk to walk around. Also, the hotel offers complimentary slide ticket and hot chocolate for each hotel guest!
This is a nice cosy hotel in a central location within Old Quebec City. The hotel staff are all really helpful, and can speak French and English depending on what you prefer.
The hotel was well kept and the rooms were all clean, including the detached bathroom. I also liked the vibe and decor of this facility.
The location is amazing. It is right in the center of the old town and next to so many restaurant, the parlement, les plaines d’Abraham, etc. It was next to the carnaval de Québec which couldn’t be better. We also had a guided tour of the city from the hotel in french and english.
This is our favourite hotel in old Quebec City. We stay here everytime we come to Quebec City and feel like it is "our hotel". The hotel staff are awesome, the Bistro 1640 was exceptional!!! And the location is perfect - right in front of the Chateau Frontenac!
Nice hotel and well located for sightseeing of old Quebec. Staff was very helpful and professional, specifically Ms. Pereira at the front desk. Bed very comfortable. I would rate this hotel as a nice 4 star hotel, not sure if it is a 5 star.
Great location. Across the street from the Hotel Frontenac and right in old Quebec City. Walking diatance to restaurants and shops and the Citadel too. Rooms were clean and spacious and comfy beds.
the hotel stuff are very nice and friendly. the hotel almost in the old town, all old town are in walk distance. the hotel has parking. it's amazing to have a parking space in old Quebec City
20 minutes drive from Old town of Quebec city, it's a good option for a short affordable stay. Room was clean, big TV, bathroom is separate from the small space with a sink and mirror.
this is a wonderful hotel! a true gem in old Quebec City! definitely would recommend to anyone! the staff at the front desk/reception were so friendly and nice. good job.
An excellent location close to everything on the Boardwalk and Old Town. An easy cab ride from the train station to the hotel and then to the ship for our cruise.
especially the location. in the central part of the old town front of the beautiful Fairmont chateau , where are all of the attractions the best restaurants.
