Culverdene House, hotel in Port Dover

Surrounded by walnut, chestnut, cedar and spruce trees, the 19th century Culverdene House features a daily breakfast consisting of local ingredients.

Breakfast was delicious, healthy and there was lots of choice. Options were given the night before and food was prepared to your liking. The property was lovely and had some interesting trees on it, and there was also story about the history of the house in the room. This is not a "modern or contemporary " house. Our room was beautifully decorated. One of the owners is from France and is also a photographer and painter.

We had dinner at restaurant Twoeleven.

We had dinner at restaurant Twoeleven. Our meals were better than the ones we recently had at Queen's Landing in Niagara-on-the-Lake. I was a pleasant walk to the shores of Lake Erie. The tall palm trees are always a surprise to see at the beach.
