Super friendly welcome at reception. I received an upgrade when I mentioned I had come all the way from Belgium to visit Gordon Lightfoot's hometown. Perfect location to walk to the Lightfoot statue near Lake Couchiching and the town center. I even walked to the cemetery. The wonderful restaurant "The Common Stove" on Mississaga street is a few minutes' walk and not to be missed!! There is no cleaning service if you only stay for a few days but I found that quite nice because no one's bothering you. Good coffee machine in the room. I felt very comfortable and "free" since no one bothered me about anything :-).

Great waterfront with free parking and plenty for kids.
Great waterfront with free parking and plenty for kids. A lot of great places to eat for different budgets. We ate at Theo’s, Fionn McCools and Thai Plate.
You will need a vehicle to get around.
Just don’t stay at the Stone Gate Inn.

Simple, clean, everything you need! Fridge and microwave and a balcony over looking the lake are a plus. Nothing fancy but the owners are super nice and it's very reasonable.
Tim Horton's is just down the street and there is lots to do in Orillia or just sit back with a drink on the balcony overlooking the scenery!

Orillia is a perfect get-away spot.
Orillia is a perfect get-away spot. Casino is handy, boat tour on Lake Couchiching worth taking, boutiques for shopping, Low Carb #1 on Rama Rd. great selection for diet conscious people, and a variety of terrific eating places. Fair priced accommodations throughout the city and I highly recommend Lakeside Inn on Creighton.

Only disappointing thing was that at check in, I was told they keep complimentary cookies in lobby after check in times. I was so looking forward to it. Checked every hour from check in till 8pm and there was not any brought out. When I asked night time desk guy. Chinese guy, Alex I think or Eric something like that. He was not friendly. Said the cookies were frozen in the back. I requested one or two for my husband and I but he refused to get us one. Got the impression that he was just not wanting to make an effort or do anything on his night shift but sit in the back room. Was sadly disappointed.
Obviously the hotel was of a vintage character... Covid 19 probably put a serious crimp in any renovation plans. I would recommend that should you embark on renovations attempt only two rooms at a time. No doubt you will acquire more furniture - comfy chairs, a larger table suitable for limited dining. Over time maybe acquire some nice pictures from yard sales. The table and sink/microwave area was a great idea and a modernized bathroom would be great.... It all takes time and money AND WORK! But you appear to be on the ight track.
I loved the pool. The water was warm and the pool was large. The staff was super nice and kind. And the room was spacious. The tv is quite large and I enjoyed watching Netflix. Internet was good. Bed was comfortable. Location is good right beside Tim Hortons and shoppers drug mart. And they have an arcade attached to the hotel. I’d recommend this place.
We stayed in the King Suite. Full sized kitchen, Keurig w/pods and tea bags, microwave & toaster, dish cloth & sponge. 2 of each: sm & large plates, bowls, cups, glasses. Very comfortable bed! Clean room, nicely furnished. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Grocery store right beside the hotel. Breakfast included with our stay.
Great location, rooms on the second floor with balconies, so you can get some fresh air, spacious room at the expense of a bathroom, comfortable beds.
The breakfast buffet choice was one of the biggest I've seen in Ontario, kids loved the pancakes :)
We didn't use the pool or jacuzzi, but it looked nice.
Our room was very clean and plenty of towels were provided. The bed was comfortable with multiple pillows and an excellent quality duvet. The breakfast area was clean with a variety of breakfast options to satisfy and meet expectations.
Everything was satisfactory. Room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were not the greatest but the beds ,furniture and carpets are dated.
You get what you pay for and this hotel is very reasonable and dog friendly..
The location is excellent to many prime attractions like waterfront, restaurants and shopping. The hotel was clean, bathrooms and linen too. It was complete value for money. On top free parking. The staff was very courteous too.
Friendly service. The hotel is not the most modern, but it
was clean and everything was to our satisfaction. We enjoyed the quiet location. Would recommend it very much if you need a clean place to stay.
I was not impressed by the lack of communication between the hotel and myself as I booked this room for my friend. Obstacle after obstacle was presented at every turn.
