Such a lovely hotel! The staff were courteous and helpful. The facilities were lovely and impeccably clean. Our room was impressive. I was not expecting a FULL kitchen in the suite with huge fridge/freezer, stove, microwave & dishwasher. Even the garage was well lit & tidy. I was travelling with my dog & the hotel was tremendously welcoming.

Hamilton is a surprising city with a real mix of high culture (the art museum) and the gritty artifacts of its industrial past. Old Hamilton has a lot to do, see, eat, and drink, all walkable and with easy access to the GO Train. The Mountain (the Niagara Escarpment) is harder to access except by car, full of unhighlighted history and glimpses of a grand vista over Lake Ontario. The Bruce Trail and Dundas Valley Trails are accessible but you have to pay $11 to park. Newer homes and retail strip malls make this area seem like a suburb of Old Hamilton, with the escarpment as the natural barrier. As with all suburban areas, we got the impression that tourists were not welcome “Nothing to see here!” , a curious undervaluing of a novel bit of Ontario.

Hamilton is the best location to be able to access many attractions without paying very high prices and having large crowds when the day ends. Niagara Falls is just 30 minutes away and Toronto is just less than an hour. There is plenty of shopping and good restaurants. I have stayed in both Toronto and Niagara and found them to be very expensive for everything you do. It was far nicer to be a reasonable distance from both and be comfortable at a place between.

The global impression of Hamilton tends to be negative - and it is not deserved. We found the architecture to be wonderful, the people to be friendly and dining to be varied and generally very good (loved The Mule). We got lost walking one day and a gentleman actually drove us back downtown - over the top hospitality! The weather was very mild and the gardens were still in bloom - but we'd love to see more of it in the summer. Some of the key attractions were just not open, such as the air museum, or closed several days of the week, which was disappointing.

I was disappointed that most bars/restaurants were closed Sunday night. It was not easy to find something open where our group of friends could celebrate following a Grey Cup win. A BIG shoutout to The Cat ‘N’ Fiddle for being open that night. The city of Hamilton could do some things to beautify their city. I was only there for the Grey Cup but am definitely not drawn to go back for any other reasons.

Location was great and was reasonably priced.
Parking in area is not good. 22 steps and no railings are not acceptable. "Ola" bakery next door was fantastic, owners was 1 in a million, so warm and outgoing. Don't find em like her and hubby very often. Even gave us freebees for the road when leaving. WOW!

Much of the city to the east of downtown had a run down and dilapidated feel about it. A number of restaurants seem closed or shut down and the number of places for drug rehabilitation and services for people with problems did not create the best impression. On top of the escarpment was a different world.
The main reasons for our visit, The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and HMCS Haida were very worthwhile and the waterfront parks were very pleasant.
We stayed 3 times over 3 weeks in September/October. The staff were friendly and on one occasion happily changed our room for one which was clean & fully equipped.
The rooms were basic (as we expected for the price) but the biggest issue was getting the deposits refunded. On the first stay it came through fairly quickly, on the second I had to repeatedly ask but the last one was only refunded by our credit card company despite many requests to the staff/hotel - not satisfactory service.
The rooms are all named after someone and displayed some of their works and pictures. I thought this was unique and definitely different from most hotels. I was spectacle about the restaurant on the main floor but it exceeded expectations and was very tasty. I would definitely visit here again if I was every in the area.
Newly Furnished Apartment with a midas touch plus Keyless Entry, and all amenities as a second home. Better offer than hotels yet better choice for Furnished Apartment. Close to Downtown. Good area, Nice Staffs, and Owner. Thank you for directing our Lost Luggages to us from the Airline.
This 3-night stay was for my mom and I. We were super impressed by the price and the fact that we each had separate rooms - something you aren’t always accommodated with in regular hotels. The location was perfect, as we were in town to visit family on the mountain for the long weekend.
It was easily accessible via Hamilton transit and within walking distance of the GO, made it very easy to find and plan travel around. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked that Netflix and Prime were options on the TV, provided a variety of viewing options for the evening.
Location of hotel is perfect for my needs. We have stayed here several times. Breakfast is ok. Hot items could be improved. Wi-Fi is slow. We were told housekeeping was every other day. We declined service the first time then didn’t see anyone else for the rest of our 6 day stay.
The hotel was ideal for a work trip, very central to everything and quiet. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond at any request I had. I will be staying here again on my next work trip for sure.
Visitors Inn was centrally located to everything we wanted to tour in Hamilton. The hotel was exceptional, we stayed in a jr suite and it was lovely. Staff were amazing and helpful. We will be back!
