It was dirty. The floors were dirty, the bed linens were dirty and there was a spider web at entrance. No ability to gain access to property without calling to let us in. Very strange property. Not really a hotel.

I was super happy to have stayed at Fireflies and will stay thee again if I have the opportunity. The hot breakfast was wonderful. We realized that we had not packed tuques for early mornings of the kayak trip. Long weekend, and stores were not open. The owner supplies us with 2 tuques. That was so helpful.

One of favourite places in the world, as an multi and mixed media artist and photographer, fisher and hunter, in l;ove with wonder and wandering, campbell river and area have never failed me.
It seems to be having growing crime issues, and social issues are very evident in the streets. Generally people are quite friendly, happy to point you to the things you need and may want to see and do.
Thank you to the First Nation communities for the great teenagers raised who gave me some very succesful fishing tips. Respect or the aging is so appreciated.

They people are generally friendly.
They people are generally friendly. There are many places to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a cultural variety of dining options. Getting around the town can be tricky for a visitor, so GPS is a helpful tool. I suggest you avoid the hospital, it would put a damper on you vacation.

I love Campbell River mainly because our daughter and our granddaughter live there but also because it is a beautiful location and close to Quadra Island where we have spent many holidays at the First Nations campsite at Rebecca Spit.

Had a fantastic stay at Campbell River.
Had a fantastic stay at Campbell River. Our room was huge with a large balcony overlooking the sea. Beautiful timber ceiling. Loved watching whales, otters, geese and seagulls whilst we ate breakfast, sipped on drinks at the bar or over dinner. Beautiful property. So peaceful. Drove to Gold River. Amazing road with beautiful scenery. This is real wilderness. We just loved this area

Nice place for a staycation.
Nice place for a staycation. Went for a performance at the local theatre. Stayed one night. Easy to get lost, very spread out. But scenic, hills and lots of trees. Nice waterfront shopping area. Tried Potstickers, very tasty.

must admit have difficult time reach beach in quite a number of areas but a very lovely town to visit. the one evening had an excellent dinner at Moxies and the service was excellent. also had a really good fish and chip dinner across from the docks ( sorry can't remember name but if you ask around they come highly recommended!)
Any of the businesses (be clerks or owners) were so friendly and helpful. Most appreciated!
A real must is a visit to the museum found it was truly interesting due to the focus on Native art and history of Campbell River
The view from our room was great, nice view of the snow covered mountains and the saltwater. I had a delicious butter chicken with naan, but the waitress said, "I almost forgot your butter chicken after she brought my naan. Painters Lodge is a very nice place to stay. Get all the we2ed pulled outside and get it cleaned up, just a suggestion and get the grounds to looking much better. Summer is coming up and I'll be there will some weddings there, beautiful spot for weddings.
we stayed in the Western themed room which my 4 year old loved! it’s really big and comfortably sleeps 4 people. the jacuzzi tub was nice.
we really enjoyed the restaurant. the views are outstanding and the happy hour appy menu was delicious. the free breakfast was great! the pool is really clean and well maintained. the gift shop has a lot of great art from local artist. it felt like a little resort rather than just a regular hotel. would stay again.
The hotel is in a beautiful location, right on the river. It has a lovely seating area with large fire place looking out at the view. The rooms are slightly outdated but are a spacious and comfortable. The location of the hotel is great for going for hikes and going on wildlife tours, we went on a bear seeing tour and it was fabulous.
I love having a whole suite. They are a small apartment style hotel that has taken care of the building. The location is great if you have pets because they can enjoy the fresh air on the balcony and also are right across the street from an awesome ocean front trail with lots of garbage cans and doggy waste bags available.
The bed was clean and comfortable, the fridge did not work, there was no a/c unit and to have the single pane windows open was tough for security reasons. Parking is very tight. It is located minutes out side of Campbell River so was convenient. For the $$ I think it could fo with some updating .
View was wonderful on patio outside of suite. Smell of the sea added to the experience
Very quiet and great environment to think.
The hotel was very cozy and had a very relaxing energy about it. Unlike the big chains, it had its own feeling and felt homey.
A friendly host to give advice about Campbell River. A comfortable room with good inclusions. Quality linens and toiletries. Plus a nice but distant view to the sea. We enjoyed breakfast and chatting with the other guests
It was dirty. The floors were dirty, the bed linens were dirty and there was a spider web at entrance. No ability to gain access to property without calling to let us in. Very strange property. Not really a hotel.
The back of the property backs up against the Campbell River, and the view from the balcony is very nice. The room was large, clean, and spacious. The host was very helpful in giving suggestions as to what to see.
Nice place, clean and friendly staff, good prices . It looked like at one time it was a bustling hotel with pub, cafe, fishing and hot tub. Which are now all closed.
The back yard was nice, facing the river.
Location, comfy bed, nice view. Clean, other than hair. Wife said soap bars were cute.
Jason was accomodating for extra time at the hotel for my 2pm medical appt. Nice and quiet. Price was great
The views from the room were spectacular, it was well located to see the area although Campbell River itself seemed very empty. The room was big & the bedding & towels were clean.
Good central location on Highway 19 in Campbell River. View out window overlooked the River. Enjoyed a walk along the River bank. Room was clean, staff very friendly. Good value.
Location was fabulous as we were booked to do Homalco Grizzly Bear trip and boat left right opposite our hotel.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
