A Stone's Throw Away, hotel in Nassau

This Bahamian-style bed and breakfast in Nassau features an outdoor pool with waterfall and on-site dining. Lynden Pindling International Airport is 5 minutes’ drive away.

Top location for a short stay near the airport (5min taxi ride for 25 Dollar). Very nice manager who upgraded us to a beautiful room during our second stay at the end of our trip. We also liked the Indian food in the evening. Breakfast is included, however there is only a very small breakfast selection.

We were on Paradise Island which is connected to Nassau via a bridge. Cabbage beach was beautiful and quiet if you keep away from the main hotel area. We found a great area to snorkel about 20 minutes walk from Riu Palace Hotel, and a peaceful wildlife reserve with great bird watching just 5 minutes walk inland. There is not a lot else to do unless you like shopping for local products, but with the sun, beach, swimming, snorkelling, and bird watching we were more than happy.

The weather was in the 80’s and very humid.

The weather was in the 80’s and very humid. The grounds at the Atlantis were lush and very well maintained. The place is beautiful, including the lighting fixtures. The staff and personnel are very helpful and seem to understand the confusion of trying to learn your way around . Signage is minimal. Everything is taken care of for you.

People, food and beaches were fantastic!

People, food and beaches were fantastic! Spent most of my time beyond tourist areas and got to have more interaction with the natives who were warm and inviting. Obviously the areas where I shopped and ate with the Bahamian people weren’t as expensive as the areas at and around the hotel.

Alicia our host was fantastic and available whenever you needed her. The view is fantastic and the place clean and comfortable. There were two ice cube trays full and waiting for you as there are no ice makers in Nassau. This is an 8 unit complex that attracts visitors from around the world and the common area outside your sliding door is a wonderful place to meet them in the evening when everyone gathers for the sunset. We have met Spaniards, British, Portuguese, Italians, and many others. There is great snorkeling at a reef 100 feet out with barracuda, rock lobsters, Tangs, brassies, and a host of other species of fish so bring your snorkel equipment. The left gate leads you to a beautiful beach. Getting around the island is easy with their $2 bus service. Just wait outside on the bench and the buses will pass frequently. Take the number 10 or 12 to Fish Fry, Downtown, Fort Charlotte, or anywhere you want to go. They run from about 6am to 6pm. For travelers who only use carry on for travel the washer/dryer was very handy. Just bring a few laundry pods and you are set. Again the place was clean and comfortable but not fancy. If you want an affordable place to stay that is located away from the busy tourist places, and a great host then we definitely would recommend Sunset Cove and Alicia.

It has great baches (eg Cabbage Beach) and great tours and activities (eg day tour to Exuma Cays, Swimming Pigs, Snorkeling, SandBars). The restaurants are good enough, but don't expect to much. Street food is very good, though!

Good location, cheaper option to stay on Cable Beach with access to Baha Mar. Don't expect luxury, if you want luxury then pay 2x more and stay at Baha Mar. Food wasn't bad, each meal has some decent stuff, rest is not so good. Beach is nice.

The breakfast was ok. Maybe the price point is low compared to other hotels in Nassau but if you are planning to take a few vacations days please look for another place.
