Charming small town. Known for wines and Argentinian-style steaks. Many companies offer Winery tours. In our experience (three times) those are designed to drink lots of table wine, but no quality wines. If you really want to taste good wines, arrange to visit any (or all) of the four largest wineries (Aranjuez, Kolberg, Campos de Solana, and La Concepcion) and ask to taste their best wines. You will be surprised how good they are. Don't be afraid to spend a little more. Still a bargain for foreign travelers. You will be disappointed if you take any of the widely publicized "Ruta del Vino" tours, except for the scenery in the cramped vans.
If you are looking for a perfect stay in Tarija, look no further! This place is a true home away from home. Teresa is an amazing host, such a great soul, generous, warm and always available. She was taking care of us as if she was our mother. She was waiting for us at 6AM at the door and ensured we have everything we need. She will help with organismes a winery tour, transportation etc. The cats are adorable. The inner garden is gorgeous. The bed is super comfortable and ohh... the shower is hot!! The location is superb.
Very nice hotel in a central location, only a few blocks from the main square. The room was clean and we were delighted that they allowed us to check in very early as we had arrived on an overnight bus. The staff were friendly and helpful - they took time to help me activate a local SIM which was much appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good with hot water. The WiFi worked very well for us. Breakfast was served buffet style and was tasty.
Such a beautiful and unique space, and a privilege to have it all to ourselves! It has
Fruit trees, birds, pool, and a beautiful courtyard to relax & unwind.
The breakfast was lovely & the hosts could not have been more helpful;) They gave us tips about the area and our onward travels around Bolivia… even helped us find the right bus & time plus ordered a taxi for us.
Perfect change from the normal hostel/hotel type accommodation
Room is very clean with a good mattress to sleep.
Shower pressure is amazing ! Hot water.
The casa is very cute with a great and fresh central patio. The owner is very nice and help its guests a lot. She enabled us to check in much in advance as our night bus arrived early. She can also offer tours of the winery surrounding the city.
I highly recommend and will come back when I visit Tarija again.

The volunteer staff appeared like they did not want to work. The girl with really curly hair from Argentina and her Argentinian best friend/boyfriend were very lazy and rude. The main guy at the front desk, who seemed like he was from Tarija was super nice though.
It was very hot and I utilized the four swimming pools especially the big one. The rooms were clean with hot and cold water. The free breakfast with fresh fruit was enjoyed everyday. The staff were exceptional! For now this is my favorite hotel in Bolivia 👍
It's a very comfortable apartment next to a great park. Aaron made sure that you will have everything you need and even more than that! From extra kitchen wear, till great tips to explore Tarija and surroundings till a doctor when you get sick!
