The hotel publishes itself as a 5 star one. It is definitely the best in town, since no other choices exist. It definitely used to be a good place but maintenance is lacking. The shower was clogged, they serve no complimentary water, there is no baggage assistance (luckily we do not need one, but what about those who do?) and when you walk out of the hotel, it is dirty and neglected. Breakfast was excellent, but they insist on serving you coffee from the machine, which uses chemical powdered milk. It is a shame since all in all the hotel is nice and a few minor improvements would have made everything so very different.
The Family Hotel Silistra is located in the centre of the town in a brand-new building, which is also used as a business centre. All rooms are located on the fifth floor.

Little town with a great park along the Danube river for relaxing. Gallery, theater a museums are interesting places to visit. Great shopping opportunities. Many cafés and restaurants. Cheaper than the typical turist and crowded places around Varna and Burgas.
The room was big and airy and the location of the hotel was within easy walking distance to a range of activities, archaeological sites, and restaurants. The staff were warm, welcoming, friendly, and eager to speak in English. There is ample on street parking close to the hotel, and it is close to the train sation and border crossing from Romania.

The suite was really wonderful, the space in all the rooms was perfect. The decor in the hotel was really tasteful and really enhanced the whole experience of our stay. The balcony views were amazing. The restaurant for dinner was excellent.
