I didn't have breakfast as I left early. I was very impressed with the location, a quiet residential street and the three bedrooms are a separate annexe to a private house. There was an electric gate and cars could be left very safely. The host was charming and could not have been more helpful.

A beautifully appointed and comfortable apartment in a lovely, quiet area.
Our hosts were welcoming, warm and went out of their way to be helpful.
And the breakfast was fabulous - if a little pricey!

Turnhout is a small market town, some nice shops and a few restaurants of note. Due to a short time there I didn't see much but it was nice to walk around. We ate at one of the restaurants on the main Square which was reasonable and pleasant. I ate and had a few drinks in the Eidelwiess by the station which was welcoming and the food good.

Turnhout is not the most obvious place to visit in Belgium, but it still has a lot offer: a UNESCO World Heritage Beguinage, a beautiful castle, some interesting museums and an extremely pleasant atmosphere. It's not up there with some of the finest places in Belgium such as Bruges, Antwerp, Ghent, Mechelen etc but a very pleasant place nevertheless. I loved it.

I was born in Turnhout, so am a bit biassed. Would recommend the Duke of Brabant Castle, the Begijnhof and St Pieter's church plus the Ranonkle Café (Begijne Straat) for its beer and boozy crowd and the much quieter Spijtighen Duvel (Otter Straat) in an 18th century building and choice of 300+ beers.
Very comfortable, bright, and quiet room. The bed was quite comfortable. The coffee machine and water was great, after waking up after a late night. We slept too late for breakfast so they helped alot. The hotel owners were very helpful and friendly. My husband was especially taken with the idea of 2 sinks in the bathroom - didn't have to wait for me, haha. We would hope to stay here again should we be in Turnhout again.
P.S. the artwork was great as well. The room had proper character, not like a generic hotel room.

Very friendly staff!
Great and fresh breakfast with a good variety for such a small hotel.
