Loved the peaceful location, but very close to the lake, lovely view from the balcony,which is pretty spacious. The apartment is equiped very well and has a modern design. The fitness in the building is great.
Great location, short trip to everything. Awesome staff, they'll help you with anything. Cooled drink room where you could pick your drinks (wine,water,beer) only negative was the trafic sound into rooms. Highly recommend it.

Altmunster is a strange town, which can be classified as an unknown spot. It is very close to Gmunden in which you can find people from all over the world, but in 2 km far one can see 85 cars with local registration, 10 with german and 5 all the rest from 100 cars. It has not as many attractivities for the tourists and that's why the restaurants are 10-15 % cheaper than in Gmunden with the same or higher quality.

Incredible scenery and atmosphere. Plenty to do in the area. Altmuenster itself is quiet apart from some busy restaurants so any shopping or sightseeing has to be done in gmunden. There are boat trips and water sports at the very clean beautiful lake and plenty of hiking and mountain bike trips to do. Cable cars take you up if you don't want to walk.catering is superb, we never had a disappointing meal and not overly expensive.I recommend the 'Auszeit ' cafe throughly, open 7 days until midnight.

Lovely places to eat beside the lake - Valentinos Pizza recommended. Also Die Stube im Maximilianhof, lovely old restaurant, atmosphere with good food but not near the lakeside. Good quality fruit in local Spar supermarket. Park with bathing facilities on the lake.
Super clean, Barbara paid attention to the smallest details to make the stay cozy and comfortable (for example - in the living room - soft lights and clean blankets to cuddle in, board games for the kids and so on). We loved how quiet and remote the house is, and the neighbors’ goats behind the house delighted the children for hours. The design is beautifully rustic yet facilities modern and comfortable. House only about 10 minutes drive from beautiful Altmünster and Gmunden, and Traunsee. Loved this stay!
I have visited this hotel on multiple occasions, and every time I am treated exceptionally well. I traveled by bicycle, and I was exhausted when I arrived. The staff were very welcoming. There was a small delay in preparing some forms for me to sign, so the staff quickly gave me dinner in the restaurant while we waited. The food was phenomenal. The rooms were perfect, and I had a very peaceful sleep. This is now my hotel of choice every time I come to Traunsee.
This is a hotel in an old house, trying to preserve and exploit the charm of old Austrian style, but doing this only partly. In one of the rooms I stayed the shower was directly in the room separated just by a glass wall. The sink was directly in the room. The rooms with the lake view feature a terrific view on Traun See. Facing east-south, it makes them very hot in summer.
We stood in this apartment four nights. The place has everything needed. The views from the balcony are stunning. Some shops and restaurants close by and transport as well. Altmunster itself is a great place to be located, especially who likes a quiet environment.
The location was wonderful, especially that we could see the mountains and the lake from the balcony, and we could go for very nice bicycle trips starting from the hotel. The breakfast was also very good and the people at the hotel were really nice.
Beautiful old stylish hotel,very nice and clean.We felt very welcome,despite arrived late after the check in time.We had a big room with balcony with an amazing view of the Lake.We would love to come back to stay for few days.
Location and a great view of Traunsee. Supermarket is just nearby, about 5 minutes walk. The kitchen is very practical..it has everything you need in a kitchen. A microwave is missing, but totally okay.
