Comfortable apartment with large rooms and good a/c in the bedrooms. Nice sitting out areas although lush vegetation encouraged biting insects!
Location is quite central on the island and although DJM Mini Mart is walkable (during daylight hours at least) a car is highly recommended. We tried Darkwood Bay but much preferred the more relaxed approach at Long Bay Beach (20 minute drive and roads generally excellent) where the swimming was superb.
Also recommend a visit to the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda in St. Johns and to Betty's Hope plantation museum while you are on the island.

second visit and the improvements were noticable - but the key factor is Kris - the duty manager who was always approachable and went beyond to make our trip even better . Cannot recommend high enough .

Bolans is a great area with amazing beaches and water like you see in the holiday brochures!! There are plenty of activities (we chose to ride & swim on horses, power snorkel to see wild turtles, stingray and even a shipwreck, plus a visit to Stingray City which was the highlight of my daughter's summer, & enjoyed by both of us)!! The natural attraction of Devils Bridge and the historical attraction of Nelson's Dock gave us something to think about and a visit to Shirley Heights' Sunset Party is a must - the views are spectacular, the sunset delightful and the live steel band is definitely worth hearing. The Carnival was in town when we were there, but it seems to be an event aimed at an adult crowd, so we gave it a miss (on advice from a local)!
