Belmonte
Set in the medieval Monastery of Nossa Senhora da Esperança, this charming boutique hotel features a restaurant serving traditional dishes from the Castelo Branco district. It is located on the slopes of Esperança Mountains. Beautiful location, wonderful views, very nice staff, nicely renovated medieval convent, nice swimming pool, pity I got to the hotel too late to try the gourmet restaurant.
Seia
Located in Seia, Chao do Rio - Turismo de Aldeia features rustic homes, as well as an outdoor biologic swimming pool and free bicycles. The traditional stone-built units are inserted in natural surroundings which include a garden and a flock of sheep. When only we arrived, I was thinking - "gosh, I have given 10 points on booking for places far less special than this. What should I give them - 12, 20 or what?". It is really a very special, cozy, well-kept and loved place. We were visiting out of season, so it seems ours was the only occupied cottage. Such serenity, peace, fresh air. The territory is spacious, our cottage was so nicely equipped, nicely smelling. Each detail is well planned and taken care of. Breakfast is great, coffee (and coffee machine) is nice. All the people working here - super friendly and warm. We also lit fire in the fireplace each evening - that's so cozy & great. Also there’s a lot of prepared information about the area (where to eat, what to see) in the room. Most of it in EN, which is very practical for someone visiting region for the first time (such as ourselves). It’s one of those places where you want to come back.

Lovely room, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful design, pool and food, everything was perfect.
We loved everything: the warm welcome, the explanations about the place, and the friendly hosts. It's a tastefully designed boutique hotel, with super clean and luxurious room. The breakfast was delicious and impressive and they even provided us with vegan options. Thank you so much for a 5*hotel experience
We received the most warm and friendly welcome to this gorgeous house which has been designed with an eye for style-its very subtle but we noticed it. From colour choices, to logo design and design in the rooms. Big comfortable bed, a little balcony, the tiny bar and the lovely pool in the perfect position to enjoy a magnificent sunset over Seia. Breakfast was good too. Its a really lovely place-we'd definitely stay here again
Great design, good size room. Large selection for breakfast
Cleanliness, interior design, natural light and otherwise, room size, Portuguese charm, TV.
Cozy and beautifully designed property with exceptionally warm hosts. Joaquim and his son Joaquim Jr were incredibly graceful, and helpful, right down to driving on very short notice into town to help us with an issue with our car. The town is lovely, the region is stunning, and it was a pity we only had two nights there - we will be back.
The house is situated in a stunning location with beautiful views over the valley and town of Manteigas. The property itself was designed by a Portuguese architect in a very stylish design that combined a Nordic style with Portugal mountain living.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The surrounding area was fabulous and the design of the hotel was good with all rooms having a lovely view and access to a balcony or terrace. Outdoor pool looked small but inviting although we went in October so didn't brave it. Continental breakfast was perfectly acceptable although hot food was kept in those hot plates rather than being cooked to order. Beds were comfortable and hotel was clean with Covid protocols in place.
Very welcoming staff, clean rooms, facilities, gorgeously designed interiors, great delicious breakfast, huge area to explore around. Very quiet. This house is a pure museum, you can get inspired with the visit. Owner and the staff were very kind. Highly recommended.
The location is stunning. Really tranquil environment on a side of the town, with nice mountain views and still relatively close to the town and other attractions in the region. The decor and design is worth a remark, it does stand out and creates that boutique design hotel type of feel. Really unique place.
