The Stop 3 stars

Salthill, Galway

The Stop is 5 minutes’ walk from the centre of Galway and half a mile from the coast. This 1930s property offers stylish rooms and a contemporary feel throughout, complemented by modern art work.

The rooms are individually decorated and include heating and a private bathroom. There is also free WiFi. Where to start. We loved everything down to the smallest detail at The Stop. Everybody was incredibly attentive and kind from the minute we walked in to the moment we closed the door behind us when we left. The place itself was clean and beautifully put together. And the breakfast, wow. We had the shakshuka the first morning and the scrambled eggs and bacon the second. Definitely recommend both — especially the shakshuka. The flavours were delicious and the attention to detail in the presentation was great. We also LOVED the home baked cookies left every evening, and the freshly squeezed orange juice every morning. Russels and everyone also had lots of great recommendations for places to go close by and markets or events on any particular day. The location is also ideal, walking distance to the city centre. We couldn’t fault The Stop at all even if we wanted to. It was warm, cosy and homey with a fantastic attention to detail throughout. And we honestly can’t wait to come back!! Thanks to everyone at The Stop for making our stay in Galway one to remember!
