These hotels offer something a little different in the way of design and usually sit in a trendy, urban part of town. More intimate than your average hotel, they offer high standards with a homely vibe.
The check in was very easy and quick. The lady on reception was very welcoming.
Views were lovely. Very good breakfast, plenty of variety. Beds very comfortable
Stunning location (45 minute stroll to the glacier and icebergs), easy and plentiful parking, basic but comfortable and clean room, on site bar and restaurant, petrol station and supplies just across the road. Breakfast was a typical Icelandic buffet.
The location is stunning! Just a short walk away from the glacial tongue.
The staff were SO lovely. They helped us get checked in early as we came back from a hike soaked through - I feel awful as I don’t recall the woman’s name, but she had black fair and fair skin. She was fantastic, really made us feel welcome!
The FOOD too, amazing. Not cheap but absolutely delicious - really exceeded our expectations! Beautifully presented, it felt like fine dining but with better portions!
Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Hotel has a great location, you can walk to Svinafellsjokull from it. The little bar is gorgeous with incredible views. Breakfast was extensive and varied. Staff were welcoming and the lobby area is lovely. The petrol station across the road has a cheap extensive menu
location. it takes only 15 min to walk from hotel backyard to Svinafellsjokull glacier. The path are covered by Alaskan Lupine flower. It is gorgeous. The view is stunning.
Staff were all lovely. Hotel is functional, rooms are adequate. Most importantly the showers work! Of course, this is an amazing location for Skaftafell-area adventures, only a 5-minute drive from the visitor centre parking.
Restaurant was very high-quality and surprisingly affordable, by Iceland standards.
Great location for Skaftafell National Park or as a stopover during a road trip. Rooms were comfortable if a little dated/basic in design. Staff were friendly and we were allowed to check in very late after a long day of driving. Check out time wasn’t too early either. Good buffet breakfast with some hot options. Fantastic views to wake up to!
