The Southbourne Villa, hotel in Torquay

This charming, detached Victorian villa offers 4-star guest accommodation in a peaceful setting. It has free Wi-Fi and free parking.

Our 2nd stay in 2 weeks, travelling backwards and forwards to Cornwall as a stopover. Wonderful comfy bed, every facility you could need. Amazing breakfast, loads to choose from and freshly cooked. Karen is a generous, friendly and helpful host. Karen's daughter was equally lovely at breakfast time. There's even a tuck shop for any late night munchies and useful toiletries you may have forgotten. Will definitely stay again when we are on this route. Highly recommend.

We were made to feel very special by our delightful hosts. The house is fabulous and the interior design worked beautifully with the property. The hotel had a warm welcoming feeling. Exceptional breakfast and the coffee kept coming, which was marvellous. Our bedroom was lovely and to a very high standard of comfort and cleanliness, with a delightful wet room. Gary and Philip are a masterclass in how to run a successful hotel.

The owners were incredibly friendly and so helpful. We had a last minute unexpected change of plans and they were so kinda to accommodate and let us check out later than planned. The room was stunning. So well designed and everything was very high quality. Great location, a short walk to the harbour and lovely beach nearby with a cafe. On the coastal path route.

The apartment was stunning, luxury and dog friendly! It’s also so roomy, even better in real life than the stunning pictures. Rach room is stylish and beautiful, beds/bedding lovely, so clean and comfy and two fantastic bathrooms! Torquay 20 mins stroll downhill. Wonderful!! Bonus also, for that quick early/last walk field just 2 mins over road with sea views.

Gorgeous boutique hotel. We got a complementary room upgrade, which was fabulous. Our upgraded room had the most amazing en-suite bathroom. the hosts Karen and Ian were welcoming and friendly. As we stayed over the Easter weekend, we were left surprise Easter eggs on our pillows, which was a lovely, thoughtful touch. I would highly recommend a stay at The Westgate and will definitely be staying again whenever we re-visit Torquay.

Excellent, luxury touches that were unexpected, more like being in a boutique hotel and not a seaside b&b. Excellent breakfast, the hosts are lovely and very welcoming. This gem of a hotel sets the standard and will now be my go to stopover
