Situated on the outskirts of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park, Maenan Abbey Hotel stands on the site of an original thirteenth-century Cistercian monastery.

Built as a gentleman's residence in 1850, the property features a magnificent galleried Victorian staircase and blazing winter log fire. Whilst maintaining its historic traditions, Maenan Abbey offers all modern hotel facilities. All 14 bedrooms are en suite and are decorated in a style sympathetic to the period of the building.

Booked rather on a short notice, but totally enjoyed! The atmosphere is like a little bit medieval in a good way, we enjoyed a lot a dinner - such a fast serving and tasty dishes, cocktails in the lounge! Great stuff, very friendly and helpful!

Ty Gwyn just oozes character and charm, which will immediately give you a feeling of comfort and warmth. This is a very old inn that has undergone many changes in order to keep up with the times, so don't expect slick decor, designer furniture, and marble floors. Just step back in time and enjoy the ambience, the good food, and the friendly service.

Very friendly and helpful owners, breakfast was lovely and I loved that there was an area to get ready in the morning in the room. Great designated parking area and very central to walk about town or drive to different areas/hikes. Bed was comfy and the shower has great water temperature and pressure as well!
