Rhein River Guesthouse - direkt am Rhein, hotel in Solingen

Located on the banks of the River Rhine, this elegant guest house enjoys a peaceful setting in a historic building.Free rental bicycles and a courtyard with walnut trees and colorful pheasants are...

It is a beautiful house located in a quiet village by the Rhein River. It is cozy, they have a few animals, a garden to play, a music and meditation room and people around are very chill. There is a biergarten down the street and it is easy to reach by car. Nicely located between bigger cities like Köln or Dusseldorf, making it easy to hop between those. Breakfast was also nice and they can adapt to dietary requirements.

Hotel Sechzehn, hotel in Solingen

This 3-star hotel lies directly in the pedestrian shopping area, in the Opladen district of Leverkusen. The A1 and A3 motorways are within a 5-minute drive from hotel sechzehn.

Opladed is the upmarket bit of Leverkusen- a very nice suberb which feels very safe and friendly. There is a pedestrianised shopping area (most shops being on 2 roads which cross each other) and this has a cosy feel to it rather than a big city atmosphere. There is a good variety of restaurants and other shops. Nostalgically (for us English) there is a large Woolworths! The hotel is only a 2 minute walk from Opladen train (& bus) station. Trains connect to Cologne (going South) and Wupppertal (North). If you want a train to Dusseldorf or Duisburg (e.g. for the Lanschaftspark in my case) you can get the 201 bus (every 20 mins) to the other station in central Leverkusen (Mitte). The hotel room was very nice, with a desk & chair provided for reading etc. For the breakfast buffet they had a nice variety of seeded bread rolls and meats as well as the usual cereals/juices/cheeses.

Hotel Nüller Hof, hotel in Solingen

Located in the north-western part of Wuppertal in the heart of the Bergisches Land region, this delightful hotel offers comfortable accommodation and excellent links with the A46 motorway.

The hotel is situated quite a distance from the Main Railway Station, and as I had travelled by train, I choose to walk the distance to the hotel. It was longer than I thought it would be. The German City of Wuppertal is famous for its SCHWEBEBAHN, or OVERHEAD MONORAIL that runs through the city. I could have taken the Schwebebahn to the ROBERT DAUM PLATZ, which is the nearest stop to the hotel. Wuppertal is built on HILLS, and to get to the NULLER HOF, you have to begin a steep ascent first up BRILLER STRASSE, then KATZENBERGER STRASSE, and then up FUNCK STRASSE. It was well worth it. The BREAKFAST was just 11 Euro per morning, and you get a simple, but filling CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST of COLD CUTS OF MEAT & CHEESE. COFFEE AND / OR JUICE. But the Nuller Hof also offered fried eggs and meatballs, which you could put into a sandwich. My room was simple, even spartan, but was clean and functional. The water in the shower could be adjust from freezing to boiling hot by just rotating the nozzle. They had given me a 2-bed room (I travelled alone, so 1 bed was sufficient) and my bed was comfortable and warm. All in all, the hotel represented EXCELLENT VALUE for money (433 Euro for 6 nights + 66 Euro for a breakfast for each of the 6 mornings in what is, for hotels, the main tourist season)

Laura and Andreas have setup the cottage, so when you open the front door you immediately feel at home. It’s got everything you need in the kitchen to self cater, a washing machine, lovely bathroom/shower, private garden and outdoor seating area. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen a very nice quality. Parking outside the front door was great and the location was perfect for our stay. Thank you Laura and Andreas.

Beyond expectations. The position is perfect. Very close to the Klingenmuseum. Absolutely beautiful town square with slate walled buildings. The communication with the owner pre arrival and check in was great. The room was very clean and well appointed. Lovely decor. Heaps of space. Bedding was nice and comfortable. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Stefan was an amazing host. Went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect for us (thank you again). Could not recommend Townhouse Solingen any higher.
