Set on the banks of the Spekboom River, Rivendell Trout Estate offers accommodation 18 km from Lydenburg. Exceptional location. House in a canyon near a small river. We really had the feeling we were all alone in the middle of nowhere (which actually was the case). Accomodation is fully equiped with everything you need, including fire pit and barbecue. When staying for longer period, would recommend to do groceries for multiple days. The closest shop is more than half an hour away. The drive to the property is stunning though. Would recommend to book this place when driving a high wheeled vehicle sice the road has some steep bumps and deep potholes.

Set 25 miles from Dullstroom, Valley Of The Rainbow Estate features a garden and barbecue. Verloren Valei Nature Reserve is 40 km away. Free private parking is available on site. Tranquility and great fishing for trout (brown and rainbow) and largemouth bass. Another highlight was the perfectly kept green lawn around the dams. We were all barefoot for most of the time. bliss

I called him a week before my arrival to arrange for an early check in; since then, he was the one who followed up with me to confirm that early check in was arranged, he also resent instructions of dos and donts including the access codes, unit number, etc. Although the pictures are a true reflection of the place; seeing it in person looks even better that the pictures. The location of this apartment is very quiet, clean, orderly and it is in an area where morning runs can be taken without being worried about your safety. A good location for a hassle-free getaway in Balmoral, The Meander Estate is a farm stay surrounded by views of the mountain. I like the whole service, staff were friendly.the food was good, lots of flowers, the garden its so beautiful.
