A terrace is available on site and hiking can be enjoyed within close proximity of the accommodation. The Quinta do Valdelágea was lovely. It had my essential requirements: a good shower with plenty of hot water and comfy beds. The breakfast was delicious and especially nice the last day when we could eat outside. Anabel was most helpful. This was probably our favorite place in our entire Portugal stay.

Hosts are amazing, ready to welcome you and to make you feel at home. Staff is super prepared and helpful to satisfy your needs (we travelled with a little dog). Offering garden views, Quinta de Santa Marinha is an accommodation located in Castedo, 41 km from Douro Museum and 35 km from Mateus Palace. The property features pool and river views, and is 28 km from Natur Waterpark. The country house provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. This was the highlight of our trip. We had the most peaceful 3 nights at Quinta de Santa Marinha, and I would go back as soon as I can. The staff were some of the friendliest people I have ever met, and they did everything they could to make our stay incredible. The views from the B&B were breathtaking, the breakfast was delicious, and the pool incredible as well. Close to other vineyards in the area. Would recommend to anyone!!

Bike hire is available at the property and the area is popular for cycling, hiking and nature walks. Mirandela is within 20 km, while Chaves is at 67 km from the property. Casa de Campo das Sécias is 47 km from Foz Côa and 170 km from Porto International Airport. Host very helpful in allowing me to use her printer to print boarding passes. Breakfast was not just the standard continental bread and coffee, but included fruit, cereals, range of breads and toast and condiments and cheeses, fruit juice and tea/coffee. Room was large. Area is very quiet.

Moleiro de Baçal is a stone country house located in Baçal, 7 km from the city of Bragança, and offers comfortable bedrooms. Free WiFi access is available.

Guests can taste the local gastronomy by visiting the various restaurants in Bragança. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including hiking. The property offers free parking. Moleiro de Bacal is a lovely country home located just outside of Braganca. Maria Jose is the most gracious hostess. Our room was huge with a spacious terrace outside of our bedroom where you can sit in the shade and enjoy the afternoon breeze. Maria Jose will schedule your homecooked breakfast at the time you wish - huge portions of scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh orange juice, fresh fruit, bread, coffee and her homemade jams. We were within a 15 to 20 minute drive of the modern city of Braganca which we enjoyed exploring the fort and the Museum of Masks. One evening we had the most delicious wild game dinner at the Restaurante Solar Braganca in town. We also drove up to the tiny village of Rio de Onor one afternoon and the village of Montesinho on another day. So quiet and relaxing. We highly recommend staying with Maria Jose in her beautiful country home.
