This beautiful country house hotel from 1861, set in 28 acres of wonderful gardens and 4 Gold Stars (Visit Scotland) for affordable luxury 30 km from Edinburgh. The hotel was also awarded by AA as Scotland's Hotel Of The Year 2013/14. Lovely, quiet country location. The building itself was very elegant and spotlessly clean. It was clear that the grounds and the walled garden were meticulously cared for. The breakfasts and dinners were superb and every staff member was friendly and attentive from the minute we entered to the moment we left. Our room was beautiful and well equipped with all the essentials and some extras! The proprietor made a point of chatting with all the guests.

This 4-star silver AA awarded Victorian house is nestled in the village of Innerleithen and still retains many of its 19th Century features. Caddon View Country Guest House allows guests to relax by the open fire in the drawing room and free WiFi and free private parking is also available. Fantastic stay, everything we needed & nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return next year.

Our second stay at the steadings cottage. Location of the cottage is in a very quiet little village bit only 20 min drive from a bigger town for places to eat and shopping. The cottage itself is so peaceful and relaxing. Lovely layout with a big, well equipped kitchen. Double bedroom downstairs with a very comfortable bed. Had two Fantastic nights sleep (even through storm jocelyn). Private parking. Hopefully we will return a third time.
Lovely big room, very quiet and peaceful & I slept well. Shared bathroom was no problem as there were no other guests and use of the kitchen worked well. Friendly and helpful hosts, outdoors people who were out a lot of the time. Coldingham & St Abbs Head are beautiful, rich in history with lots of footpaths to explore, too many for a short stay so a return visit is on the cards for next year.

Location, quiet and peaceful
We were given a very warm reception at Broomfields Country House, with tea and shortbread served to us in the delightful garden with splendid views of the surrounding countryside. Our host Martin was friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and we made use of an attractive lounge to imbibe a wee dram (courtesy of Broomfields) before bed. Breakfast was good. The property is in a good location, close to Melrose.
Location, hospitality, little touches, and cleanliness were outstanding. Quiet location with a relaxing, peaceful vibe about it. Small swing park on site and Wilton Lodge Park a short drive away, which were fantastic for our little one.
Broomfield Country House is situated in a beautuful location. The owners are warm and friendly and ensure that you have a perfect stay. Their house is spotlessly clean. The garden bedroom is peaceful and secluded. On arrival, tea and shortbread served in the lovely garden was a welcome treat. The breakfast was amazing with an excellent selection of delicious food served in a cosy dining room complete with log fire. We would highly recommend this property.
Very peaceful. Lovely walks around the countryside and the absolute best chip shop we ever found (Crosshill in Chirnside). Very helpful owner and beautifully presented property.

The location was perfect for us. Within walking distance of Melrose and easy to access the main roads by cat. Breakfast was an individual meal cooked for each guests needs. A very quiet peaceful location with woodland walks near by and beautiful grounds.
