I stayed one night in the Araucaria House, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Maribel is a very kind host. She showed me around and made me feel comfortable. It’s a beautiful big mansion with a delicious interior (great styling and feeling at home). The garden with all the lovely cats and the nice trip to the Cathedral beach are big bonuses for the experience. I truly love the place and would love to come back again the future!

Lugar del Rio offers accommodation in Couzadoiro, 10 minutes' drive from Ortigueira. Ferrol is 41 km from the property. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. Santi, was a wonderful host, always ready to help and advise us with anything that we enquired about. Staff is friendly and host Alberto speaks terrific English and has great tips on where to go and particularly where not to. Rooms are spacious. All of the rooms in Casa Rural A Pasada have stone walls, wooden floors and private bathrooms. They also have views of the surrounding mountains and gardens. We really enjoyed the owner of the property she was a very sincere and wonderful person. Meeting her was a highlight for our entire trip.

Set in a stunning landscape, overlooking the sea, Casa do Merlo is the perfect place to get away from it all, and unwind by going on long walks through the countryside. The hotel is also surrounded by a large estate, with gardens where you can soak up the sun in the summer. Casa do Merlo exceeded our expectations (last-minute booking in summer) -- wonderful, beautiful property in a darling small seaside town, comfortable and spacious rooms, very friendly and gracious host (we loved it so much, we stayed an extra night). I will stay here again if my travels take me back to the area in the future. It's a short and lovely walk to a wide and beautiful sand beach and a 15-20 minute stroll will land you at some good food options by the sea, too. Cathedral Beach is a 7 minute drive away.
