Find the country houses that appeal to you the most
Looking for a country house?
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes based in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, such as trekking, birdwatching and cycling.
Super location and super hosts.
Lovely clean mountain air in forest-scented countryside. Excellent directions both to our accommodation and to Killeter forest (part of Ulster International Appalachian Way), which we explored. Clean, comfortable, quiet room. Welcome access to kitchen, where we were able to do our own cooking. Stunning view of Norway Spruce framing the lane way up to the house.
Ardgort Country House offers a relaxing retreat from the stress of everyday life. John, the owner, treated us like old friends and was pleasant and chatty
we stayed at ardgort country house .
what a beautiful b&b
our bedroom was amazing , just like the bed and gardens
john was a really kind and friendly gentleman
he even offered to take us to a resttaurant in town
when we were leaving he gave us a box of chocolates
i would reccoment this b&b to any one who travels to ireland
thank you for a memorable stay
John made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed our stay at Ardgort House. Our room was clean and comfortable and had the luxury of a bath rather than a shower. It is in a great location for both seeing the countryside and places to visit. We would happily stay there again.
I liked John, the host: he was friendly and helpful. The B&B is in a small town outside of Omagh and it was so much nicer to stay there than to be in a bigger city. Castlederg is a lovely little, Irish countryside town, but not far from sites. I took a day trip to Derry, for example. It shows up on Google maps as "Castlederg House", but is also called Ardgord House.
Staff so welcoming and friendly, grounds were absolutely beautiful, breakfast was delicious the following morning, cosy, so peaceful and quiet. We will definitely visit again if we are ever in the area. Even received a box of chocolates when checking out, so thoughtful of our host! Thanks again.
Very clean bedrooms and throughout.
