We went there to visit Biathlon and the hotel was right next to the stadium. Breakfast was good but for dinner I have to say the restaurant has limited option especially if you are travelling with a child. The hotel bar and the fireplace at the entrance creates a cozy environment. Already booked this hotel for next year.
The man who greeted us was very friendly, we had a balcony and a very warm apartment thanks to the fireplace with wood. It was really cozy
Great place to stay in Oslo! Very good meals, including afrernoon coffee, witch was a nice touch. Wonderful localization, helpful personel, clean and cozy rooms and a fireplace you can seat by and just enjoy. Highly recomend!

I liked how cosy the accommodation was. it felt like a cabin trip in the mountains. Facilities were clean and the staff was friendly.

The hotel is really very old, but the location (very close to all the main city attractions), the staff, the meal service, also attention and the cosy atmosphere made our stay really fantastic. Yes, the cleaning was not 10/10, but we really felt like at home and not in the big city Oslo. Just don't pay attention to some old furniture... the Dinner even with the vegetarian offer, the small sauna and gym.. We enjoyed our stay! thanks a lot.
Very nice location, many options for walking/trekking. Possible to get to the place from Oslo by metro (+a bit on foot). Clean cozy room, though not very big. Swimming pool and sauna included. REALLY good breakfast!
This has been our second stay at Karl Johan Hotel and again it was a very enjoyable stay. The staff at the front desk is always smiling and very helpful. The location is excellent, the rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable. Breakfast offers a good variety and the breakfast room itself is just very cosy, perfect place to start the day. Also the coffee was really good. Personally I also love the decorations within the hotel, my kind of mix between elegant and cozy.
