There is a small shop in Box and a supermarket in Corsham (10 min by car). There are quite a lot maps and leaflets from the tourist information for walkings tours and interesting places to visit by car. The cottage was beautiful as were the grounds. Very roomy and lovely cottage in idyllic location
The balcony/decking area to the rear of the lodge overlooking the lake was beautiful! To have a hot tub also made it even more spectacular, a lovely quiet scenic retreat with squirrels, ducks and even herons as welcoming neighbours around the lake. We loved it! The lodge was lovely and cosy inside, comfortable bed and warm. Felt safe too.
The owners are so kind and helpful and the cottage is very comfortable! The kitchen is well equipped, the room warm and cozy. I had a lovely weekend at the Rate Hillside Self Catering. Really recommended!
Beautiful countryside. Nice and cosy cottage.
Rew Farm is an absolute Gem set in fabulous farmland with amazing views of the countryside. The Village itself has a choice of 2 pubs one set right alongside the canal. Nicola welcomed us and made us feel right at home. The lodge itself is so cosy, very clean and has so much character. Everything is thought of and covered. It literally was a home from home experience. The Animals were the icing on the cake. If you love the countryside you’ll love Rew Farm. Can’t wait to go back. Adrian , Karen & Rita.
We had the most amazing overnight stay here! The location was quiet and idyllic, with a beautiful view over the fields. Lyn the owner was friendly and welcoming and had provided a lovely welcome basket plus other useful amenities like sliders and robes for the hot tub. The cabin itself was perfect, with a comfy bed, sofa, TV and games available. The hot tub was fabulous, very clean and had a lovely view over the fields. Everything was so clean and tidy and well decorated. Would love to return for another weekend.
Peaceful location in a golf course and a vintage-looking building that still has modern facilities. The spa is good, with a nice treatment centre and a modern pool, sauna, steamroom extension. The pool could be a little bigger. The bar and lounge is charming, with a proper fireplace and a good bar. The restaurant food is standard country fare, but enjoyable and the staff is friendly. The gym was compact, but very well equipped with new machines and weights. I would visit again.
A piece of history, characterful and quirky, but so comfortable it felt like home! Original features abound; wonky walls and floorboards, huge fireplaces, cute little windows from which to admire the unique National Trust village setting and a beautiful cottage garden to enjoy a drink or food in too! Our room was so cosy and well-appointed, as was our beautiful ensuite and we both slept so well! Food at the Angel is delicious and staff are friendly and attentive.
The cabin was cozy, comfortable and had all the amenities I needed for a relaxing break. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the hot tub, which was a fantastic way to unwind after long walks in the surrounding countryside. The cabin's location was also great - just a short drive from Bath, where I was able to enjoy some great restaurants and shopping. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. Thank you for the memorable experience
Charming, comfortable and cosy, lovely views, light and airy. The Roost had everything we wanted and needed - all the facilities you would expect from a hotel room, plus a minifridge and microwave for self catering should you want it, and sole use of the terraced garden. Excellent shower and lovely big towels. We were welcomed by the host who was gardening when we arrived, and was available if we needed him during our stay.
