And, a bonus there: a shelf filled with maps, guide Books and ideas what to do and where to go! Bed comfy, bedlinen and towels as in best Hotels. Shower felt luxurious, plenty of hot water. Easy to heat up the lounge area with a little electric fire, important on wet days! Top tip: BlackLion neighbouring pub has delicious food and great atmosphere, good for dinner. We stayed at Pen-Rhos in “Cuckoo’s Nest for four nights in mid January. The scenery surrounding the ‘cabin’ was breathtaking and there was enough space between each cabin for privacy. The space was small, but perfect for two and had every appliance we needed for meals and hot drinks. The bathroom was clean and the shower heated quicker than ours at home. Llandrindod Wells had a few pubs and grocery stores that were close and convenient. Surrounding cities like Newtown, Rhayader, and Builth Wells were great for pub dinners.

There is a shared (between the 6 cottages) heated indoor swimming pool and hot tub with views of the Brecon Beacons. The cottage was amazing and the facilities were a great addition. The view was outstanding, watching the sun rise every morning from the cottage window was beautiful. Having access to the spa and pool after a day of exploring helped us to relax and unwind. The children loved having their own upstairs space along with all the outside space for playing and running around.
