This is a lovely place to stay to explore the area around Macas!

This place is exceptional! Nicest place we have stayed in Ecuador. Super clean, super comfy, great facilities, the staff are all awesome and the chef is an amazing cook. Great views with massage, yoga and sound therapy available. The pool and temezcal (sweat lodge) is the icing on the cake. Lovely jungle walks near by. An absolutely amazing beautiful place to relax and recharge
It's a great location - across the river from town so nice and quiet at night, you can just hear the jungle insects/frogs. Loved the very chill 2 dogs and cat on the property :) The rooms were nice and very clean (we stayed in one of the cabins). We did a tour with Edwin the boat operator down the river to see the caiman lagoon and then the tapir/monkey lagoon - he is really nice and was patient with our non-fluent Spanish. We also loved swimming in the pool and the river.
The bungalow is amazing, well equipped and perfect to enjoy and relax! We loved every detailed! The extern area (pool and bbq area) is also great! And the view is breathtaking!
The cabin had a fireplace and it was awesome. Aldo the floor is warm and that was really nice. The staff was really helpful.
The pools in the hotel were private and romantic
Nice pool, half of the lodge is beautifully in the rain forest. Really good food (but very expensive and only in the evening- remember there is no shop close). The 2 hour hike from the hostel was amazing and in fact 5 hours long. Judy was really helpful as a stuff member!
Absolutely loved it here, it was fairly empty when I went and had the dorm to myself, it was a beautiful wooded cabin with lots of space the room was extremely comfortable, the pillow was my favourite, super comfortable unlike any other in Ecuador, haven't slept that well! All the staff and owners were extremely friendly. The common space was very nice and cozy.

The Banana Lodge is such as lovely and cozy place! We enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks and the fresh breakfast (always fresh juice and different fruits). The hosts took good care of us. They always had time to chat and had good recommendations to visit the area. We could join a trip to the jungle with other lodge guests which was a lot of fun! After traveling for some time we also enjoyed cooking our dinner in the well-equipped kitchen.
