Though the place is small, the configuration is so smart, that you have a feeling that it is bigger than it is. I really loved the windows, they have ventilation thing and blinds. The place has free parking on site, there are a lot of eateries around, several restaurants, one of them with a playground (though we didn't like this restaurant). An ice cream café is also there. Grocery store (Netto) is 10 minutes walking. Highly recommended place!

If you were 2 couples, the bathroom situation may be problematic (see my other notes).

Absolutely outstanding, in fact this is easily one of the loveliest places we have ever stayed. The host, Melanie, was very welcoming. We loved the fresh eggs and countryside feel. The property itself is roomy and very charming, and there is a large outdoor area for spending time in, and a parking area big enough to fit the minibus we arrived in. Thank you Melanie for a very special stay.
Even though the hotel is on a busy road, the rooms are very quiet. The rooms are spacious and clean. We were looking out over the fields and were woken by the birds, it was rather idyllic. The parking facilities are ample and secure. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. The continental breakfast was good too with plenty of choice. After a day in the car we were able to go for a nice walk in the surrounding countryside and new housing development.
Nice and cozy hotel in the countryside 50 minutes from Hamburg and 30 minutes from Bremen. It is very convenient to stop if you are driving along the highway. We made a special stop when we traveled to Hamburg. A very good restaurant, we specifically came to the hotel because of it. Unfortunately, on the first day of your stay, the restaurant turned out to be closed at 21-00, be careful about opening hours. Pleasant staff and service. Good breakfast and the room we lived in.
We liked the excellent location of the house and the exceptional view to the Fischmarkt from the living room, the gorgeous architecture, the fairy-tale-like charming little houses. The town's best rated restaurants, cafes, shops are right around the house, nice green areas at 5-minute walk's distance. The flat is clean, newly refurbished, comfortable and cozy, with everything you need, the hosts take care of all the details to make you feel at home.
Beautiful room overlooking the river. Highly appreciated the remote controlled fireplace, a delightful touch. The staff were incredibly friendly, good humored and professional. Fantastic spa area with 2 saunas and steam barth. Large, well equipped fitness area. Delicious and bounteous breakfast buffet, often regionally sourced.
The charming hostess Ann and her husband Lutz were incredibly hospitable. Their home is just as beautiful: cozy, spacious, beautifully decorated and filled with absolutely everything necessary for a comfortable stay. We stayed in the 2 bedrooms wooden lodge, the room is very cosy, well decor. Free parking is a bonus. Definitely will stay again
First time to hotel Waldhaus Oelper and pleasantly surprised. Special touch and character of hotel reminding me the small cosy family run hotels in countryside. Room clean, spacious, comfortable. Parking on site easy to find. Members of staff pleasant and with smile on their faces. Ideal venue for weddings (and from the photos in the hallway) they do many of them with very positive feedback.
The hotel is located inside the civil park area where you can enjoy the atmosphere of good old German forest, and it stands just near by a historical castle. The hotel facility is a classic style German cabin which is somewhat old but cozy. Staying in this hotel will make you feel that you are really traveling Germany.
