Stunning location on the banks of the Orange River. The lodge we stayed in was beautifully decorated and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the place was warm with heaters, electric blankets and an indoor fireplace ready for lighting on arrival. We stayed here as an overnight stop on the way to Cape Town but could have easily stayed for longer. Looks like it would be amazing in summer too with the infinity pool!

Butterfly Cottage is really lovely. The place is comfortable for a family of 6. It had electric blankets, which helped with a cozy night's rest on a cold winter's night.

Has a lovely view of the main street and the beautiful old church. The staff were friendly and so helpful when I was in trouble. There was a Pokemon stop and gym in range of my room. The room has good amenities including air-con and the bed was lovely. I was warm and cosy even though it was a freezing winter night when I stayed. There are also restaurants close by and they deliver to the cottages. The cottages have safe enclosed parking.

This is an excellent place to stay for stopover on the long road from Cape Town to Gauteng. It is a beautiful old farm with a lot of history. The rooms are super spacious. The old manor house offers so much - from sitting on the stoep overlooking the dam to a cosy lounge with a massive fireplace. I wish we could stay an extra night.
