The whole casa and the room itslef were very clean and spacious. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that for minimum pay I get that comfort and cleanliness. The host was caring and attentive, though not speaking English. They responded positively on our late check-in. There is nothing spectacular about the casa's location; yet it is a perfect overnight stop at the end of Northern Portugal or Douro Valley day trip - a secluded refuge from the bustling Porto, which is just 20 minutes away.

Very warm welcome of our hosts in this beautiful family-owned castle with modern comfort. The location is very convenient to go to Porto airport. We had dinner and breakfast, and both were exceptional in terms of variety, quantity and quality of the products. We also enjoyed the medieval games available in the garden. Lovely old garden, park-like museum. The house contains a lot of antiques, much cooler even than in the museum. Very nice and quiet place with a green garden and lots of plants.

Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
The house and grounds are lovely, a little bit of country in the suburbs. Flavia the hostess was charming and ran through things with us. It's easy to access Porto from the station a ten minute walk away. There are restaurants nearby, which are excellent. Also there is a big supermarket within walking distance. Loved this place, the perfect place from which to visit Porto. We would certainly return.
