We rented two properties, one was like traveling through a time tunnel and seeing how a rural family once lived in a house . made of wood and stone. The properties are very old with old furniture. interesting experience. The price is of course very cheap which is a big advantage for those who are interested in saving

The location was fine for me, though some reviewers complained it was too far from the village, but it was only a 10 minute walk to a convenience store and a small restaurant/takeaway.

In a quiete area, but walking distance to City centre. Swimming pool. Extensive breakfast on stock for whole stay. Excellent bed. Complete kitchen. Friendly host.

We absolutely loved the house, so well equipped and a beautiful large garden with gorgeous views. Was fantastic to sit in the hot tub or pool looking at the views of hills. The house is a 3 bed but is so much bigger. We had a large en-suite with his and hers sinks and large shower room. A car is a must as Pombal is approximately 20 minutes away though there is a smaller supermarket about 10 mins away. There is even a garage to park the car and electric gates to keep you secure ! If you like a peaceful holiday then this is it ! Hosts were very friendly and we knew we could go to them if there was any help we needed but all was fine. They are sort of attached in another large house, not that you noticed. The only thing I would say was watch little ones with the edge of pool (little drop down), our lilos drifted over but you easily grab them back again. We really hope to be back some day :)

Everything. The location overlooking the valley is immense, totally void of any noise but chickens and church bells. The set up of the house with 5 great sized double rooms to the pool house which you will not want to leave till the evening and bed time. The swimming pool is an amazing size. These photos do not do the place justice.

So much love and care has gone into the creation of this beautiful cozy bungalow. The woodwork is gorgeous, and the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom really contain everything that you need. It's beautiful but practical too.
The host and his partner were lovely people. We were going to take the key from the lockbox, but they met us and gave us extra sheets etc for the spare bed even though it was nearly midnight when we arrived.
