Wow, this place was paradise! The house of Sara and João is a piece of heaven on earth, what a beautiful location right on the river Douro! The house offers every comfort and was very neat! The rooms have a magnificent view and the two bathrooms are very spacious! Big plus is that we were allowed to use the kayak and sup which was great !!! The garden has a little pool with a view over the river. We could use the lemons of the trees to make fresh lemonade. Sara and João were very friendly and on hand if we had any questions! Exceptional place. Each villa is secluded an far from the other. villas are set in a perfect background of vines and fruit trees. perfect and more. A/C, light breeze, bottle of wine in the fridge with a full kitchen if you need one. exceptionally clean. Staff was very helpful and responsive to any question. great pool and bar-b-que area. The most memorable and enjoyable week in Portugal! Casa do Vale de Cerdeiras offers a beautiful panoramic view from a villa with elegant style and all the modern conveniences, in the midst of historic villages and the famous Duoro River Valley, with many local cultural experiences and nearby vineyards for wine tasting and tours. An ancient Roman road lies just beyond the property gate for a rare hiking adventure! We are three couples from Canada who had the unique pleasure of enjoying this gorgeous villa and the ministrations of it’s most gracious host and hostess. Recommendations were offered on request, a traditional dinner was hosted at the villa (special thanks to Paula and Fernanda), two authentic local culinary experiences (Tasquina do Fumo; Casa do Lavrador), a cruise on the Duoro River, and a tour of the beautifully restored Mosteiro de Santo Andre de Ancede were all arranged by our host. We also visited Regua and Quinta da Pacheca for a wine tasting tour and lovely lunch. We all agree this was the most helpful and accommodating a host could be, while still respecting our privacy. It is clear Victor wants his guests to have the best experience possible in the home and land he undoubtedly loves.
