Feels like a hobbit house, the room is squeezed between two huge boulders that you can see inside the kitchen. It's small but comfortable. The location is very romantic, with amazing views from the patio outside the door. The house is probably about 500 years old, tastefully renovated in such a way that keeps the feel of the old dwelling with all modern amenities of today. The breakfast was good, the kitchen had everything to make tea/coffee, or even to cook if you are so inclined. The village is very unique and the feel of this house matches the atmosphere of the village.

The apartment is clean and has all you need. There are two bathrooms, one is upstairs next to the bedrooms and the second is downstairs in the living room. It is located in the outskirts of Relva and Monsanto village can be reached even by foot if the weather conditions allow so. There is short road 1.7 km long starts directly from the house and leads to the backyard of Monsanto. There is wonderful view from the house. Communication with the host via booking was good. Nice neighbors that helped us with the parking.

Everything was so clean and very traditional chic. Loved the way they took a ruin and incorporated into a lodge. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel once it’s warmer to use the pool.

Location was amazing, including a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the historic village and mountain top castle. The geological features in Monsanto, granite 'perched' boulders, and the castle, are unique 'must see' experiences. Hosts Maria and Mendes met us at the property and organised parking for us close to the house. The property was very well appointed, with washing machine, large kitchen, good WiFi, and we were even given local cookies, fruit and honey wine to make us feel welcome. Our hosts recommended local restaurants, and generally were very helpful in settling us in and making our stay comfortable. Thank you Maria and Mendes!
