The apartment was ok, if a bit dated in its decor. The view across the valley was beautiful. The area was very quiet and peaceful, if a bit remote and accessed by a narrow single-lane road. We slept with windows wide open, which was nice. The pool area, terrace and gardens were well kept and tidy. The sun shines directly in the apartment in the morning -- a lovely way to wake up.

The whole space was unique, stylish, beautiful, comforting, the food and accommodation and the bedroom particularly was excellent. All the communal areas are incredibly designed too. I can’t recommend this place enough - and Ana was incredibly
Helpful and kind

Amazingly beautiful, spacious and quiet place with excellent hosts at the ede of a quirky village.

Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
Everything about the property was perfect. Surrounds were idyllic, the building beautifully restored, the staff incredibly friendly, and the food was fabulous. They have a dinner menu and the included breakfast was just lovely too.
We had such a relaxing time at this peaceful oasis, thanks to the amazing hospitality of the lovely sisters Sophia and Susanna and great traditional 'typical' cooking. This gorgeous old farmhouse and the surrounding buildings have been lovingly restored to provide comfortable accommodation The pool is fantastic, and much-needed in the hot weather.
Susanna and Sophia went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. Thanks so much for a very special break, we will be back!
It was our first time out with our 8 months baby and we had a memorable stay at Pousada Caniçada-Gerês. Staff went above and beyond, from reception to cleaner. We felt at home away from home. Fireplace room is really cosy and has a stunning view of Cavado River. Thanks a million to Amanda, Ana Maria, Lilliana and cleaner (sorry can't remember the name).
The pristine location, fantastic swimming pool and charming garden with the relaxing sound of the water springs. Superb breakfast and the restaurant meals were absolutely delicious. The sympathy of the host.
The view was breathtaking, the ambience was warm, cozy, rustic and the fireplace and big windows made it simply perfect at night and at day. The staff was very friendly and competent. The food was simply divine, the regional products like the presunto and honey add a touch of personality to the breakfast and the Reineta apple pie was the best apple pie I've ever had in my life.
It's definitely worth it.
