We come from the beautiful city of Munich and enjoy traveling the world. Given our demanding jobs, we tend to indulge in more extravagant vacations and are willing to pay above-average prices for high-quality accommodations. This does not mean we are spoiled, but cleanliness and proper maintenance are crucial for us to enjoy our limited vacation time.
About the Accommodation and Host
Unfortunately, this accommodation and its host do not belong to the types of places we would consider revisiting. To be honest, we fled the place after just one night. Luckily, we found refuge for the remaining three nights at the Azores Wine Company, which we highly recommend.
We traveled during the peak season, specifically at the end of August. Knowing that Pico offers limited accommodations and everything gets booked months in advance, we secured our booking early. The host was well aware of this scarcity and exploited it shamelessly. Four weeks before our trip, we received a message in Portuguese (which looked like a standard confirmation at first glance) informing us the air conditioning was broken. We could cancel without penalty but would not receive any discount. Realizing we had no alternative by then, we bit the bullet.
On-site Experience
Upon arrival, we realized that the small windows did not allow for any airflow, forcing us to keep the doors open to maintain a temperature below 30 degrees celsius. This, unfortunately, invited all sorts of pests, including mice, into the accommodation at night. Although we had four weeks to brace ourselves for such conditions, a bigger issue arose. It is a wonderful huge house with two terraces. It was spotlessness clean. Our host was lovely and even a welcome basket was waiting in the house. The beds were super comfy. It is a quiet surrounding although close to the road. We definitely would book Casa Figueirinha again. We spent an entire week here and it was too short. We highly recommend this house for your vacation. Internet is available.

Everything ! Dawn and Nelson are such amazing hosts! You can see that they put all their heart in the place as it is full of cultural details. This place has such an unique vibe. It is ideally located in a quiet village in the island but still really convenient to go visit all the major touristic attractions. Just next to the most beautiful natural pools in the island (literally down the road). Nice attention to the guest as well : fresh bread, bottle of wine from Pico, cheese. We will definitely come back ! Best accommodation ever!

Everything! Lovely location, amazing views and garden - spent hours watching nature. Great facilities all you need to cook and bake. Amazing host Fatima made us most welcome. We were without a car - due to ferry breakdown - but there is a shop, restaurant, small local bar and amazing swimming in walking distance.

A charming and complete small house with a stunning view, conveniently located near a beautiful natural swimming pool and a small supermarket. The outdoor space was fantastic. The owner is easily reachable and very pleasant to communicate with. I highly recommend staying here.
The house is situated in a charming village and has sea views. There is a small shop/cafe opposite. Adelina the owner is a lovely lady who genuinely wants to provide you with everything needed for a great stay and was always available when needed. She loves to chat and has a friendly menagerie of cats and dogs.
The house was situated very closely to the water and was the interior had a cozy and familiar rustic feel. Adelina, the host, just wow, I cannot say enough good about her. She treats you like family and makes sure your time away from home is filled with a space that feels just as special. Thank you so much !! We had an amazing time and recommend this place to anyone !

From the patio there was such a nice view of the ocean. The natural pool is just 2mins away by car and close to the house there is also a mini market (better to use the car cause to come back there is a high slope.
We spent there 5 days and we felt like being home.
