The breakfast was simple, bread rolls with ham and cheese, and some nice jams, with filter coffee. it was fine and there was plenty to eat. The housekeeper was very welcoming and made one feel at home. She does not speak English so you need Portuguese or some Spanish to have a chat with her!

The venue and area is mind blowing, go back 1000yrs the village is something one has to see to appreciate. The mountain pass into the hidden gem is breathtaking in the low hanging clouds. Goats wandering the street, pettable and friendly, wear shoes!!!! The entire inside is superbly finished, nothing needed, breakfast, coffee etc etc supplied. Host was very attentive and his brother in law Phillip help us get settled. I'm going back again just to show my family.

The house is in a cute mountain village but very private - the terrace overlooks a small valley. It has been restored with an amazing attention to detail and many of the original elements are still there. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very comfortable. And don't miss the restored bathtub in one of the bedrooms! We arrived after walking the Paiva Pathways and crossing the bridge - it was the perfect place to recover by sitting on the lawn and staring at the view. Bring food - once you arrive you won't want to leave again!
